Hiking 2.0

So, a short work day has lead to a glorious day in the sun and on the mountain. 2 hours & 8 minutes got me 7.4 miles with an average speed of 3.45 mph. Total elevation gain was 2,321 feet topping out at 7757 ft. This has been a great week for hiking/jogging. Very happy about how my knees feel too. 237+

I hiked from the MGM casino to Orleans hotel last night at 2 am, because shuttle service had stopped at midnight and I'm too cheap to pay for cab/uber.

Just over 3 miles. Crossed 2 interstates. Saw interesting people, including 3 prostitutes and 2 crystal meth tweekers, one of whom followed us for a spell...

Cascade "Amphitheatre" in Banff
We turned around at this point after exploring for a bit. The summit was another 3.5 km up a ridge with another 900m (2500ish ft) of elevation gain still to go. The weather was about to turn ugly so we played it safe and ran the trails back down.

Overall it was a 16km (10 mile) day with about 1000m of elevation gain.

LOL.... every time I've ever been to that craptastic city.... one key is, to always carry something in your outside hand, depending on the direction you are walking, and mumble when accosted for prostitute service, they can't hand you crap if your hand is full. :O O:

The Bubbles pic is about 400k in jpeg format. Can't recall if I did something proactively to make it that small size. Will try to load a photo from my phone and see if I chose something specifically to get that smaller size.

We did 13 miles today, but my phone died about 7.4 miles into the hike, so I don't have all the particulars. We didn't gain that 5,000 feet that was in that Frost, GC vid, but we did gain over 1600 feet. There was a Restaurant at the end of our hike, only problem was, it closed at 5 pm, we got to it at 6 pm.... Damn, no beer to end the hike. 250.

None of us will blame or shame you, if you crawl home.... Just steer clear of those Youber drivers, them cat's is crazy..... Oh, and here is some Zeppelin musica, for your drunken troubles....One of the songs that made me a fan of these guys....This album, and Zeppelin 4 were my very first two albums I ever owned....

13.5 miles today, with an elevation gain of 2,685 feet up to just below 9,000 feet. 4 hours and 6 minutes. I felt this one as the first 3 miles were about 2,200 of the 2,685. Also, around the 10 mile mark, I had to break down and put my compression sleeve on my left knee. Glad I have that thing, it works great.

3+ little ones yesterday and 13.5 today gets me roughly right around 267. Way off my goal, but, I've gotten in some excellent hikes with some excellent weather. Now, gotta relax before we head out to the "Trampled By Turtles" show. Was going to lay down for a nap, but don't think I'd wake up in time.
