Whitish, a 5-9 guard from Barneveld, Wis., erupted for a career-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor to lead four Huskers in double figures against the Hoosiers. Whitish out-dueled Indiana first-team All-Big Ten guard Tyra Buss in the game, outscoring the Hoosier junior 18-16 head-to-head while scoring her points on six fewer field goal attempts. Whitish also went 4-for-6 from three-point range, including a huge three with 1:28 left to give Nebraska a 61-58 lead.

Nice article in the Daily Nebraskan on Hannah Whitish!

UNL freshman basketball player’s talent stems from father’s support

Freshman guard Hannah Whitish burst onto the scene as the Huskers’ premier sharp shooter and established herself as a go-to offensive player.

Whitish finished her freshman season as the Huskers’ second-leading scorer, averaging 10.1 points per game. She also led Nebraska in 3s (30), assists (54), steals (19) and 3-point percentage (.395).
Whitish is known for being a tireless worker, spending hours perfecting her jump shots. As a 10 year old, Whitish’s dad Bob recognized his daughter’s commitment to basketball and gave her private workspace.

“My dad actually built a shed,” Whitish said. “The original plan was to have over half of it as the half court.”
