Nebraska offered Edward Chang of Papillion during an unofficial visit to Lincoln last night. He had already gotten an offer from Creighton on Sunday.

HT: 6'7"
WT: 180 lbs

He's got some filling in to do and maybe some growing left. Has anyone seen him play? Hope he stays in state at least.

GBR :N:

From another site:

Chang is more of a wing - can handle the ball, shoots it from distance, etc. At least at the H.S. level, Arop plays more of an inside game.

For anyone in the vicinity:

Omaha South plays at PLV on January 26th. It will be a great chance to see both Arop and Chang in action

Yeah, 180 lbs doesn't present much of an inside game at the next level. Does he have a frame that will allow for weight gain Or is he going to be strictly a shooter.

I've seen him play and he has way more upside than Arop since he can shoot it. Arop just isn't going to be big enough to do much for us in the B1G without the ability to shoot very well, hopefully can be another Rivers type player for us. Chang will probably grow another inch or two and has 2.5 years to put weight on.

Here's a chance to watch Ed Chang play.

Here may be a chance to watch our latest offeree play. Millard West (Class A No. 9) will host Papillion-LaVista (Class A, No. 3) tonight (Friday, 1/15/16) at 7:15 CST. Here is a link to watch: http://striv.tv/channel/millard-west/

I read somewhere that he has huge feet: like size 18-19. Whoever sees him play in person check to see if he's got hair on his legs: if he doesn't, it's a good sign that he is still growing. ;)

Omaha South coach, Bruce Chubick, although not Chang's coach had a few things to say about Chang on 93.7 Friday. Said he has seen Chang play a lot and he has a big upside. Would be a great pickup for NU if Chang can reach his potential and if NU can get him.

Regarding Arop, Chubick said Arop is "energizer bunny" - never stops working, never stops moving on offense. Very coachable, always takes comments from coaches and tries to implement them. Thinks he'll be a guy at D-1 level who can guard a variety of different players, quick enough to guard players smaller than he is, but is going to have enough explosive jumping ability and length to rebound vs taller players.
Said he'll definitely need to get stronger to play B1G basketball.

2018 Papillion-La Vista wing Edward Chang attended Nebraska's Elite Camp this weekend, and he'll be back in Lincoln for another visit soon.
