2017 Royals


Royals win 6-0 behind another stellar outing from Vargas(5-1, 1.01 ERA). They take 3 of 4 from the Rays. Hopefully they are beginning a hot streak as they need it but the Royals always dominate the Rays. They have won 30 of the last 37 or something close to that against TB.

Orioles and Yanks up next.

Yeah, the teams with the 2nd and 3rd best records in the AL after Houston edged New York tonight.

Orioles are a bit beat up in the bullpen. Britton, who has had 54 consecutive saves played in 2 games after coming off the DL and is back on the DL until the all-star break. Brach is filling in and has 7 saves and two blown saves including blowing a 6-4 9th inning lead against the Nationals last night. The Orioles have surprised so far this year even without their ace, Tillman, who played his first game of the season last Sunday. Starting pitching has been strong with the exception of Ubaldo Jimenez who isn't scheduled to pitch over the weekend. If the Royals can score at least 4 runs a game, they have a chance, or if they can get to the Orioles bullpen late without too big a deficit, they have a shot to win the series.

Scoring 4 runs has been an issue all season.:(
 
Earlier this season, the Orioles won 3 consecutive games while scoring two runs or less. The last time they had done that was in the 70s.

The best thing for the Royals is that they are playing in the AL Central where no one has played that well. They are 5.5 back, but in the East they would be 9.5 back and in the West, 10.5 behind.

Without a doubt the division has kept KC in it. Although, the Royals have sucked within the division and played decent outside of it. 3-12 against the central.
 



Royals win 4-3 over the O's. Karns only pitched 5 innings but 12 of his 15 outs were strikeouts. Unfortunately, 2 of the hits he gave up were HRs.

Chris Young starting against the HR happy Orioles tomorrow is the stuff nightmares are made of.:confused:
 

Orioles have first 3 game losing streak of the year. Three homers but all were solo shots.
