Not entirely true. I've had patients that had new knee pain, had an MRI and they have no ACL. It wasn't a new tear because there were no remnants of the ACL left.

I'm a physical therapist. His right foot was planted in the ground and he was rolled up on in a way that would stress the MCL. Just a diagnosis from afar, nothing official. Just my hunch. Time will tell. I hope I'm wrong.
