NU vs. Michigan State Game thread

Halftime thoughts:

Unbelievable the difference from the Wisconsin game to the first half of this game in the play of the NU bench.

Doc Sadler knows he has to get more than the miserable performance he got from his bench Tuesday Night.

Doc substituted early and often and for the most part, the continuity did not change when the shock troops were in either in masse or one by one. That is an excellent sign.

NU did a very good job of running their offense and getting good looks. There were a couple of quick shots, and a couple of shot-clock forced bad shot/situations, but for the most part, NU looked to be aggressively running their offense and looking for shots for the entire shot clock possessions.

The energy by Nebraska was striking on both ends of the court. Defensively, we actually got MSU out of synch and forced some turnovers. This is something that has been lacking.

Again, such sustained energy is not possible without play from the bench. It appears some of the reserves have been challenged and came into this game knowing they had a role to play, and knowing they were going to get an opportunity.

Niemann in particular has seen plenty of action. With Diaz out (and even with Diaz), we need Niemann to be able to give us solid minutes at least defensively and on the boards.

So far, so good. Michigan State is awfully good. We will have to continue to play with the kind of energy we showed in the first half.

Thanks to the reserves, we at least have a chance.

Let's hope we can keep it going.
