Back to the Pokes thread, OSU signed 31 freshmen and transfers for this recruitment cycle. Allen Bowman was an interesting signee. I anticipate he will compete with Zane Flores for the starting job in the fall. My guess is that ZF starts, and Bowman is the insurance policy.

Ranking-wise, a very underwhelming class by Gundy, but we shall see.

Caught this on 24/7. Zane Flores is rated as OSU's biggest "steal" in the 2023 signing class, and perhaps the biggest steal in all of the Big 12. Go Big Red Orange!

ZANE FLORES | 3-STAR | QUARTERBACK

There is a chance this could be the biggest steal in the 2023 recruiting class for all Big 12 teams. Gretna (Neb.) standout Zane Flores was a record-setting passer in high school and has a few Brock Purdy-esque traits that raise his already-high ceiling even further. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback has a big frame and a strong arm to compliment his athleticism.

The Nebraska Gatorade Football Player of the Year and 2022 MaxPreps Nebraska High School Football Player of the Year helped Gretna to a 12-1 overall record and a runner-up finish in the Nebraska Class A State Playoffs this season as a senior.

Flores completed over 65% of his passes for 3,117 yards and 31 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. He also had 79 carries for 262 yards and 10 touchdowns. Flores finished his high school career as Nebraska's all-time leader in passing yards (9,163) and completions (724).

The future of the quarterback position at Oklahoma State is unknown with redshirt freshman Garret Rangel also in the room. Flores has potential to be a breakout star in the coming years.

Oklahoma State identified Flores as a priority target just as his stock was beginning to rise last February, eventually landing a commitment in mid-April. The Cowboys fended off a several late pushes from Nebraska and many other Power Five programs to keep Flores locked in on making the move to Oklahoma State.

Bedlam this weekend. I pick OU to win simply because they've found a way about 80 percent of the time. As crazy as it sounds, the game may be decided by Allen Bowman's arm. OU isn't going to let Ollie Gordon beat them, so lots of guys in the box. If OU runs out in front of oSu early, this will be a blowout, as oSu doesn't have the weapons to strike quickly this year. oSu pulled Leon Johnson III's (WR) redshirt because they were so thin by the injury bug at WR.

This won't be a one or two touchdown win for either team. OU will win by three touchdowns or more, or the game will be so close that it comes down to a field goal either way. OU's defense is porous, but they know that oSu is the Ollie Show, so they'll do what they need to do to shut him down. oSu has played excellent defense, except that 2 or 3 or 4 times a game that they drop coverage and someone walks into the endzone without a Cowboy to even escort them in.

OU's got more horses, so I think they get the W again. I hope this is still a competitive game in the 2nd half.

You know, all I heard the first three games this year was that the game had passed him by, blah blah blah. And yes, getting blown out by SOUTH Alabama at home was a real stinker. But Gundy wins way more than he loses.
There were rumors there was going to be a mass player exodus after the Iowa State game. They took the loss and that looked like a low point where things could fall apart.

But, they have pulled it together and are 5-0 since. It might be his best coaching job considering how bad they were early on.
