Thompsons thumb

I had a car accident (not my fault) in 2018, t boning a car in an intersection. The air bags came out, as I hit her at 40mph. I did not have a seatbelt on, so I held onto the wheel for dear life. It messed up my thumb, wrist, and hand. It didn’t break anything, but there are tons of little finger nerves in there. It was 18 months before I was at 60%, and probably over 2 years before it was back to what I considered normal. I couldn’t grip anything for about 10 months. Just weak and painful. I’m sure CT’s injury is different, but as others have mentioned, in the hand area, it takes much time to get things back to normal.

Obviously a lot different situation but the thumb on my shooting hand in basketball still isn’t the same after about a year getting fouled in a game. I still play several times a week but I know it isn’t back to 100%.

Though I will take any of you on in a three point shooting contest…and win so don’t even think about it.

I have faith Casey Thompson will get the best medical attention needed to get back on the field by fall.

I think he will as well. He has youth on his side and a great medical staff. Now, down the road when he is older, and posting on message boards like this it, may be a different story. Lol

Second half, 143 yards. 3 of the 5 times Texas had the ball was 3 and out, resulting in an Oklahoma monsoon. He left out a huge part.
I don't have the energy to look up stats by half, but don't forget the Texas fumbled a kickoff that led to a score from the Texas 18, and Texas had the game tied at 48 with 1:30 left to play. When you are up 28-7 I am not sure you can lay sole blame on the QB when he did throw for 5 TD's.

Make it free throws and you’re on? I can constantly knock down 85-90/100. I don’t miss much. I usually win horse games because most can’t make a free throws consistently. My son says it’s lame, and I say, make them, it’s part of the game. I use to be able to shoot 3’s really good, but my baseball shoulder has caught up. At 55, I could still catch a big league pitcher today, but I just can’t squat like that for very long, maybe an inning. My eyesight also isn’t as good either. I don’t think I’d even try to swing a bat. My right shoulder is like jello.

I didn’t lay the blame on him. It was a team deal. They needed him to make some plays, and mostly, he didn’t. I think they were up 38-17 at half. Point I was making was, he hasn’t shown much when games are on the line. Again, not saying he sucks either, he doesn’t. I’m sure much of that was also his team around him collapsing as well.

I think you’re being a bit hard on him. As was mentioned earlier, he injured the thumb in the first half and the adrenaline carried him through. But after sitting through halftime you’d have to admit that was probably a negative for the thumb. You already agreed hand injuries are brutal, so……

I’m not anointing the guy or anything. But statistically he was pretty damn good last year and better, at least in the passing game, than anything we’ve seen around here in a while.

Well here are Thompson's stats for the whole year.

There maybe, maybe a slight down tick in his passing after the OU game and his thumb injury but he had some VERY GOOD games after that injury too including the last game of the year.

So, I don't think last year tells us anything about his thumb and 2022, we just will have to wait and see what he looks like against Northwestern.

There sure were a couple of turds in there as well and all but one was a loss. Additionally take out the stats from the Kansas game and they are really pretty putrid. Without the Kansas and Oklahoma game you are looking at really pedestrian stats for the year. Personally I thought his throws though were on target for the most part, came off his hand very awkwardly in the spring game.

I might be, but I haven’t seen any gamer in him, but he’s only really played one year. He was a guy with some stats. Nothing more.

Time will tell, I just want the guy who gives us the best chance to win as starter. I don't care who that is. One thing I think we should be able to agree on is that he seems to be a hell of a leader.

I promise if he leads NU to a 48 point output against a good team, I'll be ecstatic.

I hope so. I want him to do well. I’d think most do. I’m sure everyone is sick of the losing.
