BiG Expected To Reinstate Football Season Starting October 24

That's doesn't make a lot of sense to me? So if the majority vote to play the NAH voters must play anyway? Seems like it would be best for those schools that are AFRAID to play that they sit out this dance!

im sure there is a bylaw that says if you dont play a sport, then you are not entitled to any funds from that sports revenue. thus forcing those teams to play.

If we end up playing
The medical, TV, and football scheduling subcommittees all presented yesterday. This is who was likely in the Zoom besides the presidents. All 14 AD's and 4 coaches are on those committees.

They had a lot to go over for 2 1/2 hours. It would seem that #1, are we safe to play. When. And then how (television). There is a lot here, including negotiating TV contracts and maybe they are in a better position to nail that down before voting.

Ugh... allot of "Meatchicken represented on the medical committee. That scares me.

At what point does the B1G have to sink the 2 foot gimme putt? The rapid testing gave them an opening to move forward without having to admit they were wrong....I've never witnessed this level of incompetence in anything. Let's see how much sports matters when the pay cuts reach their level....they can't justify constantly raising tuition.

im sure there is a bylaw that says if you dont play a sport, then you are not entitled to any funds from that sports revenue. thus forcing those teams to play.

That could be the play of those that don't want to field a team. If they aren't entitled to any money, why not keep the others from getting some?

Maybe since representatives from all the schools are meeting they're discussing how to get rid of Kevin Warren too. Can make the announcement of play starting October 17 and Warren is fired at the same press conference.

They can easily amend any bylaws with a emergency provision based on the pandemic....or whatever they want. The league needs to think out-of-the-box here. If only eight teams want to play, find a way to accommodate them and then find an appropriate way to share the revenue so that the non-playing teams still gather at least a little benefit. It’s just called common sense, compromise and normal business Something we seem to have forgotten in this country lately.

If they don’t get this done, the absolute calamity of what will happen to this league will take years for it to recover from, if it ever does. I ask you.... If YOU are the mother and father of a five-star or four-star recruit are you sending your kid to play at a Big 10 school in the future if they don’t get this done? The financial hardships that this will cause thousands of people....as well as the lack of opportunity that our highly skilled players will be able to showcase themselves for the NFL and their future would be unquantifiable. And the social injustice of it. Many of these players are minority players. Not to play in the fall will be a catastrophe for this league. It’s that simple.

Dan Patrick is talking about a vote today, but not so sure how many teams are in. One thing to consider is how many teams are playing. For example, if you have 9 teams all playing each other with an 8 game schedule, then someone will have to have a bye every week. Same goes for any combination of an odd number of teams. So in the case for Wisconsin, if they were to need an extra week, they could have the bye week #1.

They could also give everyone a bye week half way through the eight games that way no one is playing seven or eight games in a row
