Westerkamp, Williams to enter XFL Draft

The XFL is having their draft in a few days. Kieron is one of the players listed in their draft pool, although I'm sure others may negotiate deals post-draft via free agency, etc. I know from their Instagram posts that both Tommy Armstrong and Jordan Westerkamp, among others, received offers.

Always nice to see former Huskers get a chance to keep playing ball even if it's not the NFL.

I still think Westerkamp could play in the NFL... the number of dropped passes I see each week makes me think he could be another Cole Beasley.

I give it 2 seasons. The original XFL hardly lasted a full year, but this time around they appear to have dropped all the wrestling-style gimmicks and "ULTRA EXTREME MACHO COOL EXPLOSION" kind of marketing.

They seem bent and determined to make a blue collar, hard-nosed style of football that would make any triple option or wishbone fan happy. Plus, McMahon is nothing if not a consummate showman, so I give it at least the success of its predecessor, plus a year.

The XFL Draft rules are kinda interesting. Each team will be assigned a quarterback to start with, and then they build their rosters from there.

Also, each of the five rounds has a different focus (skill players, OL, etc)

The XFL announces draft with assigned quarterbacks and other unconventional rules

The XFL is holding its first draft next week, and it's going to look a lot different than the NFL draft.

Not if there are any Husker fans in the area. I'd love to watch Lavonte David and Ndamukong Suh mess up some offenses.
