Jahkeem Green

The dline starts 3 srs

He has 3cyrs to play 2. He can play 1 yr sparingly and start 1 yr...or he can start 2 full yrs.
No brainers to RS

this was exactly my thought on him. Can he force his way into the rotation? Absolutely! But a guy showing up late and not in shape is going to have a very difficult time with the experience and talent we have on the DLine already

Not adding anything new that hasn't already been touched on. I'm sure we'll see a lot more of him during conference play. Hard to justify early PT when you show up about a week before games start and you're not in shape for an up tempo style.

So many variables when it comes to recruiting. Can the kid lay off the weed, can the kid not crack a beer bottle over a teammates head, can he come to camp in shape, how will he handle college life.

The plan was "you are not redshirting", it's basically a main reason we got him here. But he shows up late to camp and out of shape, and he's not beating out Davis x 2, Stille, or Thomas and we didn't play more than those guys the first two games anyway.
We will be lucky to have him here for 2 years so we need to play him as soon as he's ready.

Or not scale the side of an apartment building looking to beat the tar out of your teammate / QB who is sitting out a year after transferring from Stanford...

Agree times 10.

Plus when he is likely to be ready will coincide with when our top six guys will start to show the dings and dents of playing 60-70 snaps/game.

Remember Scott's offense scores quickly and is not a time of possession system so the defense will be out there a bunch.
Right now they are doing fantastic against the run, very very good for turnovers and good against the pass.
To maintain this or even improve it, the most important thing is d-line depth, of which they had NONE last year. You will likely see Mr Green as being Mr "just in time" in late September or early October.

All the best. GBR

***, are you saying we will be lucky to have him for 2 years because you still feel like he's a NFL prospect or because he will be unhappy with his situation and transfer?

Maybe we can get the AL DE that just entered the portal. #1 overall DE last year in high school.

Get him on the field for OSU, Wisky, Iowa and the B1G CCG....that a good four game redshirt year.

Oh Frost will say we will play the best who can give us the best chance blah blah blah....then he takes one look at his graduating seniors and becomes strategic. No way Green plays ahead of Darrion or the Davis twins. So if Green's on board with 4 games of back up duty, then so be it. Even if he is one of the better players. Hope there's no bait and switch here.
