Nate Clouse On The Bottom Line (7/29/19) Green/Bivens/Manning/Ajou/Morrison/Johnson

Assuming that he comes to Lincoln, would he not play in 4 games?

The fact that he has not played football for two years and been a part of an S&C program and not showing up until after camp starts would make it difficult to do

Not to mention we really do not know the real condition of his knee despite what Clouse reports.

If he comes in as a Grey Shirt he will not go on scholarship until January which does not preclude him playing 4 games but I would think makes it highly doubtful

Could he play 4 games? Sure but with his history they may just decide to RS him and put him through S&C and give the knee another year to heal and rehab

If and when he gets here we will know a lot more

Just listened to the show live so this is off the top of my head

---Green will have his final grades on 31 July and will head to a school this weekend. Nate said no one really knows where however, he is of the mind it will not be Lincoln. He thinks the harsh Midwest winter this year may be a big factor. Still finds it had to believe he would pick Lubbuck over Lincoln. Think Nebraska may have been nothing more than a place holder while he looked around. We will know of course in a day or two

---Bivens story gets more interesting. Nate claims he could probably have played in 2018 but sat out to ensure his knee would be good for college. In addition to ensure his academics would pass muster. Sounds like he to took a summer class and if all is good will be in Lincoln next month. We have been the only team who has stuck with him through this. If Green bails sounds like he will get that final 2019 scholarship. If not he will come onboard more than likely as a Grey Shirt. Clouse seemed pretty excited about him coming to Lincoln.

--- Ajou Ajou really liked Nebraska and Scott Frost and where the program was heading but in the end a chance to play for a national contender in Clemson proved to much of a pull

---With Ajou gone getting Manning as the big bodied WR in the class has become paramount. Nate thinks we will get him but the decision will not happen before the season starts. More than likely in mid to late September.

---Morrison has decided to hold off on his 22 August commitment due to new interest from the likes of Arkansas and Missouri two SEC teams. Of course not good for Nebraska but still thinks we are in it. He will decide in December and sign in February

---Bryant-Strother attracting more attention too. Will OV to BYU and UCLA. Home area school GA Tech may be a player too. Bottom line this may be a tough pull after what seemed to be a real shot

Well that is pretty much the highlights

Well that was depressing. Thanks for summing it up and glad i didn't listen to the whole thing.

dont worry, just win. the Big Red boat will in danger of capsizing

Forgot to put in the OP that Kaden Johnson is hoping to make it to campus this week. Was in Law Vegas with his AAU team so the timing could be tight

Good news is he will OV this fall
Now there's some good news!
Appreciate all the updates though, even those that doesn't sound positive for NU.

I "noted" the "for all the obvious" reasons statement. I don't think it's obvious.

Some reasons are more obvious than others. And to me when there are so many unknowns, even the obvious become unknowns.

this shocks me big time. this kid must have really gotten better in florida or they're going by his NFL type frame because he wasn't even the best player on the field his junior year and the level of football up here is historically not even close to what it is down south. Chuba Hubbard at Okla. St. is considered a once in a generation athlete in the league up here and dominated game after game. Ajou would just run alot of 9's and win 50/50 balls because of his height. good for him though. from small town alberta to one of the top two programs in the NCAA.

No surprise to me at all my good friend. Makes all the sense in the world
