Friday Night Lights

I thought one thing Mike Riley did well was rallying some excitement at least among the fan base about recruiting. The Friday Night Lights camps played a part in that. I think it would be impressive to a recruit to see the Husker fan support at these camps. You know if it's out there we the fans will show up. It seems to me that the promotion of these camps has dropped off under the new coaching staff. I wasn't even certain they were still holding them until I saw a mention of it as a sidebar in the Nash Hutmacher article. Can anyone enlighten me on why the current staff wouldn't want a big turnout for the camps? It's not a huge deal in my opinion, but why not use Husker Nation to your advantage in every opportunity?

totally agree, i remember that some recruits were totally stunned to see 6000 + fans cheering on a practice and knowing who the recruits were already. My brother went to one of them, said it was a really impressive showing for recruits

Nice to see them have a Camp specific to OL/DL guys.
That's where our program fell off a cliff during the MR experiment.
We had some talent on the Lines, just not the right coaching.
The pipeline camp is sponsored by Adidas. Several Adidas schools like Miami, Lousiville, Kansas, Arizona State, Rutgers, Rice and others.

What happened to the kicking camp? Is that open to the public, that would be a packed house, plus chicks dig specialties, so there would be a bunch of honies there.
:)
At first I thought you typed "homies" instead of "honies".

There was a Specialists camp on June 6. Not sure if you remember seeing the long snappers who received preferred walk-on offers last week.

Wasn't that first hit in the game we got torched for 400 something yards receiving by Troy Edwards and Tim Rattay. 98 opener? Great hit though!
