Spring Game on April 13 and Ticket Prices Increase $3.00 a game

This increase will be mostly transparent for me. I can never remember exactly how much season tickets are anyway. $3/game is nothing to an individual, but the cumulative total can help the program.

No big deal, and anyone that complains about such a small increase probably just has an axe to grind and is looking for anything to complain about.

Nobody would do that!

Interesting. I'm guessing my dad's good friend wasn't aware of that when he sold us the 2 tickets for $150.
I am guessing if he was a season ticket holder he knew exactly what he was doing. Season tickets holders have always paid less, and the ticket reflects that, but tickets that go to the opposing team has a higher face value and the ticket reflects that.

Damn, there goes getting that latte enroute to the game.
That's funny, several years ago before the Iowa game my group was in the Haymarket and went to the bar we normally go to and the door was locked (I guess it was around 7:45am). No where was open so we ended up at Scooters drinking coffee (not sure who drinks coffee that late but whatever). We are sitting there and another group of about 6 walks in and asks if anywhere is open yet. We did get in finally but the latte comment reminds of that, funny.

I think it was a couple of years ago that it went up to $56 so it is not like they are raising the prices every year. Not to be nasty but if someone can't afford them, don't buy them and just get for cheap on the street before the game.

The ticket prices are only a small portion of the cost of being a season ticket holder. The mandatory donation per seat is where the athletic department makes its money. All in all, Nebraska football is a great value.

An extra $25 million, per year, and we need to raise ticket prices? Very efficient...

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is projected to receive nearly $51 million in payouts from its new conference this year, according to figures obtained by The World-Herald. That’s almost double the $26 million partial Big Ten share it received last year and almost six times its peak haul from its old conference, the Big 12.
Im sure you've had a peek at the books to see what the total payout vs receivables are in the athletic budget.

Woah, this sounds an awful lot like a justification for socialism ;) JK
:)
You'd have a point if the University were forcing me to buy tickets. No sir, this is capitalism. They're selling at a price I (and tens of thousands of others) are willing to pay.

Just read the world herald and it says they haven't raised proces since 2015, probably time.

I know that the Athletic department prides itself of running a surplus ever year. So this move, while seemingly minor, is really just a money gram for no reason at all. They'll spend it for sure...maybe Moos can put in a few more restrooms after all...$1 million plus ought to finance a few toilets.

UNL athletic department needs tonrun a surplus. They are one of very few public i stitution athletic departments that recieves NO tax dollars. So maintaining a surplus is important in case there is a down year. Or an emergency arises.

Don't mind the slight increase in tickets if it will help with building new facilities. Now raise my donation and I will be pissed.
