Compton appeared to struggle at times last season in defending against the pass, but it's more likely that he was trying to make up for someone else's mistake more often than not (I'm not naming any specific names).

He's a solid player and a good tackler. Good job, Will. Go make the dream come true.

He never played at 4.63 though. Even the most ardent spinmaster has to admit that he was often no where near his guy in coverage and he certainly wasn't running people down on the edge.

Great linebacker at the line of scrimmage though.

yeah, true.. sometimes over thinking really slows a player down. Trying to be perfect every time..

Not at all. I could never figure out why people were so concerned with the pass coverage skills of our middle linebacker last year, least of our problems.

People were practically giddy about our perceived upgrade in speed at LB this year despite the inexperience. Turns out our staring MLB at season's end was the slowest of the three contenders (Rose, Bando, & Santos) and probably no faster than Compton.

Are you saying pass coverage skills are not important for a middle linebacker? Becuase that would be a mixture of funny and sad. And speed running a 40 yard dash isn't the same as game speed. I really hope you know that.

Did I give the impression I didn't know that?

Yes, Compton was not great in pass coverage, but I hardly think that was a huge issue last year. Asking your MLB to cover for decades because of no pass rush will never work. How many coverage issues do you think Mr. Gregory covered up this year?

I just hope the Redskns know how slow he is, maybe you should ask them if they know how important coverage skills are and how useless 40 times are.
