There should be no Big Red "N" on the outside of the Pinnacle Bank Arena.

    What say you?

Granted, it's just an "N" on the side of a building.
    But it's sparked some debate.
(Yeah, slow news day in sports).
There should be no Big Red "N" on the outside of the Pinnacle Bank Arena, Pat McGrane told the group overseeing arena construction.
The red letter leaves the impression the University of Nebraska built the arena, Nancy Hicks wrote in her column.

Born a Nebraskan, raised a Nebraskan, will die a Nebraskan!! Go Big Red!

Men of Israel, consider carefully what you intend to do to these men. Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing. After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered. Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.” - Gamalie the Pharisee - Addressing the Sanhedrin regarding the new group called Christians
"I support collecting more in taxes from people with high incomes who choose to actually pay taxes at lower tax rates than use lawyers and accountants to avoid taxes at higher tax rates," he wrote. "Some tax revenues at low tax rates is a heckuva lot better than no tax revenues at high tax rates." - Art Laffer (on 999 plan)

What is wrong with putting a big red N and the insignia for the city of Lincoln on the building? Surely Pinnacle Bank wouldn't have a problem with that.

Pinnacle is making payment and there name is on it. The Huskers have signed a long term contract and making payments for use, if it was in the agreement not an issue.

Using the theory that it is rented by the Huskers then if you are a home renter you cannot place anything outside your rental home that indicates it is your place.

I understand what you are saying, but I doubt the building would have ever been built had it not been for the University of Nebraska agreeing to be the principle tenant. That is not the case with most rental homes. I don't see any problem with putting some type of Nebraska insignia on the building.

EVERY building in Lincoln should have a big red N on it.

I have a big Red "N" on the front door of my house, so why not on the new arena?

    Red N's are Good.

    Put it on.

McGrane is a blowhard and just wants attention.

UNL brings so much money to the city, it's a small thing in the big picture. Just a simple N and all up in arms? me thinks McGrane got issues.

So let me get this straight. There shouldn't be a N on the building because tax dollars paid for it and not the university? Didn't tax dollars pay for the majority of buildings on the UNL campus?

Well, that takes care of my reply. The N is what it is all about!! Without the University, none of this is happening!! End of story.
