HUSKERS vs HORNS - Game 2 of 3 - Baseball Thread (SATURDAY)

Well, let's hope we do a little better today. Looks like, right now, it could be another long season????

Here is the roster for the Whorns:

Right-hander Christian DeLeon is scheduled to take the mound for Nebraska, while Texas is set to counter with lefty Dillon Peters.

Here is the scoop on last nite's loss:

Huskers Drop Series Opener at Texas

Austin, Texas - The Nebraska baseball team (0-5, 0-0 Big Ten) took a 2-1 lead into the sixth inning on Friday night at Disch-Falk stadium, but in front of 6,004 fans the Texas Longhorns (4-1, 0-0 Big 12) responded with the game's final seven runs to win the series opener, 8-2.

    More of the game, etc.:

the primary problem IMO is the bullpen...we'd have 4 wins if not for the bullpen...need to shore that up. Let's GO!

Yes, you are preaching to the choir, 57! Again, though, we are leaving too many on base. We can't expect to win games with 2-0 or 2-1 scores. So, our problem is definitely twofold, if not more!!

I agree that the main problem is the bullpen, but there aren't many positives on this team. You can't go scoreless in 8 of 9 innings and expect to win many games.
I really hate Penn State! (And I'm not that wild about Iowa either.)

Yup! Just one more of many, many problems! The season is seeming to feel like, it is going to be a really long one!

isn't the pitching staff still young or mostly Anderson recruits? Any good signees coming through next year/development? I haven't been following as closely as I had in the past thanks to Anderson's shoddy coaching/teams...Erstad relit my flame in following the team but I fear I'm still behind on the development/players and who's who in the chute waiting to bust out....

He had to calm Brandon Pierce, because he was hot about some of those calls by the blind guy behind the plate.

Told him he did a good job last night.
