11 AM Press Conference at NU - Osborne Retiring?

Just heard on 1620 that there will be a press conference at NU at 11:00 AM today concerning "the future of Nebraska Athletics" or something very similar. Sure sounds like this might be TO's retirement that we've all been anticipating.

Man I sure hope not. Not in the middle of the season. I am fine if he does retire this year, I just wish it wouldnt be in the middle of the season and right before possibly our biggest game of the year.

Here is a couple links for the announcement:

It doesn’t matter if the glass is half full or half empty. What matters is you have a glass that has something in it. Some people have no glass, or have a glass with nothing in it. So appreciate all that is in your life and quit questioning whether your glass in half full or half empty.

I don't think he would. The last thing TO wants to be is a distraction.

Hope it's not something medical-related......I suppose that would be the exception, if he just felt like he couldn't do the job.

Speculation on the radio is that this will be laying out the plan and the timing of his retirement.

Maybe he is announcing that he will be stepping down at the end of the year, but that he will be working side by side with _________ until then? Insert Jamie Williams, Jeff Jamrog or whomever else you want. I dont know.

I am voting for Paul Myers or Jamie Williams! I think either would be great, but Williams would be amazing!!

From what I have been told, it's going to be a pretty somber day in Husker athletics...

If we're looking for a replacement, I know of an AD with Nebraska ties who has extensive Division 1 experience.

Maybe they'll announce Rex's knee brace is coming off.
