Where to stay for UCLA game?

I've never been to LA. Any recommendation for what Hotels the Husker fans are stayin in for the UCLA game? We're also attending the Husker tailgate. It appears the easiest way is to use the metro rail because it stops at the tailgate? Thanks in advance.

I would recommend the Beverly Hilton. In 2002 (Rose Bowl), we stayed there because it was the team hotel and we got to meet a ton of players. You can walk to Rodeo Drive and Trader Vics is right on site!

Save some cash and stay in the South Bay around Torrance/Redondo/Hermosa. Decent places around B Hills are pretty pricey. $anta Monica hotels are also overpriced. You can get a good rate of around $120 at a Marriott south of LAX.

If I were you, I'd go to airbnb (its an mobile app) or check a site like vrbo.com. There are many amazing homes anywhere from Pasadena, to west L.A, to Santa Monica and even down to Redondo Beach for rent from people who use them as second homes or travel a lot.

I personally like the Santa Monica/Venice area. Its centrally located and has tons of character. You can rent million dollar homes with full amenities right next to the beach for as little as $125 a night. Much cheaper than a hotel, and you won't have to pay for parking. My fiancé and I just flew back to L.A. and stayed at a 1920's-style mansion a block from the beach called the Venice Beach House- it was Amazing.

Lastly, with all due respect to Red Reign, DO NOT stay in Ontario if its your first trip to L.A. Do yourself some justice and get full-value for the best L.A. has to offer. Inland Empire California is no different than any other suburb in America (but 100% more traffic). West L.A. on the other hand... is unlike anywhere else in the world.

Exactly. Staying the beach comminites is way cooler and is much more laid back. I always stay in Manhattan Beach.

We are staying in Venice I think, right on the beach. Hoping to stay away from the hairy-armpitted women.

Marina Del Rey Marriott - 10mins to beach, possibly 15 mins to the muscle heads & hairy-armpitted women in Venice. We have a party bus going from the hotel (leaving ~12.45) and returning to the hotel after the game. Cost of the shuttle will be $45-50/person...you will have to bring your own booze, but the flat screen, stereo, ice, soda, and two dance poles are included. We may have some room on the bus if your are interested.

South Bay hotels west of PCH include: Manhattan Beach - Shade Hotel. Hermosa Beach - Beach House (right on beach). Redondo Beach - Portofino (right on water), Crown Plaza (block from harbor), and Best Western Sunrise (block from harbor).

You betcha, pardner. The most important part is getting to the Rose Bowl early and getting a good tailgate spot on the grass. The funnest part of this game, especially at the Rose Bowl, is the pre-game festivities with 40,000 of your closest Husker buddies. I remember being at this venue for the '01 Miami game, and we got GREAT parking right in the mix of Husker faithful. It was a great time.

Then, of course, you get to watch a phenomenal game!
