Agou Signing With Nebraska? Not A Chance
Read this, especially the last few paragraphs. Does this sound like a kid who wants to stay instate at DONU?

Akoy has bigger things on his mind than the highlight of his career being taking Nebraska to the NCAA tournament.

FWIW - Akoy loves the attention....loves the recruting, loves to be told how much he is needed. This is not a knock on him at all, it's just saying that he wants to make sure his name is out there. I mean, at the Omaha Basketball summer league, a Rivals reporter was talking to him and he said he was going to try and trim his list to 10, but it may end up being 12 or 13 schools. When asked if Nebraska was one of them "we'll have to see" - even though he was the host for the two guys that just verballed to Miles. I mean, you can go ahead and say that Nebraska will be in your top 13....you're not letting the cat out of the bag on that one.
I definetely am taking this seriously, if Akoy leaves the state, he ain't comin' to Nebraska....

He is leaving the state:
Agau will visit Montrose Christian in Rockville, Md., on Tuesday. The private school lost last season in the semifinals of the ESPNHS National High School Invitational.
“When I go, I'm packing to stay,” Agau told The World-Herald on Friday night. “If I decide I like it, I'm staying there. If not, I'm coming back.”
He ain't coming back.

Yeah, I don't think I'll hold my breath waiting for his commitment.
I really hate Penn State! (And I'm not that wild about Iowa either.)

-
The pathetic part about this is he is playing Miles and Nebraska like a violin.
And Miles is right there lapping it up like a puppy who hasn't had a drink of water in 3 days.

I disagree, this is all part of the recruiting process unfortunately. Like it was mentioned before, he basically hosted the two who just committed and has a good friend in Biggs pushing him to commit. He only mentioned four schools for officials so far in that article and NU was one of them. I will admit that if he leaves it will be tough but I think we are in better shape than people think.

I disagree. This is not part of a "typical" recruiting process. Agou is not coming back to play high school or college basketball in Nebraska. Besides, his friend Biggs hasn't even been declared eliglible yet.
It is going to be much easier for Agou to declare his non-Nebraska college choice from Maryland then from Central high, where he by self admittance, gets pestered about it everyday.
One year at Maryland, one year at an east coast college, then off to the NBA.
So long Agou, we hardly knew yee...

He told his teammates and coach 4 days before school starts. Does this sound like a kid who is coming back to play at DONU?

I'm not sure how you can really say this. Of course Miles is going to go after him hard. And as long as NU is not OUT of the question (which I don't think they are...yet) he's not "playing" Miles. And as long as there's a 1% chance Miles has to kiss his backside...that's what recruiting is.

I'm splitting hairs here but I'm sure he wasn't their "host" as he's not even a student at Nebraska yet. He attended a visit with them but a current player would be a "host".

This move has Georgetown's finger prints all over it. Agau has no intention of going to Nebraska.

Maybe. I certainly don't see this move of his as a positive for NU's chances but until he makes it official I don't really see where he's doing anyone wrong.

Sounds like he is saying he wants to play a national schedule and he doesn't think Central will give that to him. Though we looked up the team's schedule and they mainly play local teams and just crush them. Says he's already won enough state championships and now he wants to win a high school national championship. Behrens' only hope is to convince him that he would be the only guy to win 4 state championships in Class A. I guess you could convince him to stay for his girlfriend to, but they bought the plane ticket out there for him and he's most likely going to leave her if he doesn't go to Nebraska.
I don't think Miles is doing the wrong thing recruiting him, you have to, most high-caliber recruit Nebraska has seen in a long time.

Recruit
Always possible he'll find out that he misses home after spending a year away. Stranger things have happened.

Haven't thought about that angle, moving out there finding out he misses Nebraska and home and his girlfriend, commits to Nebraska? You're right, stranger things have happened.

Come back to Nebraska? Evidently some of you have never seen his tweets.

I'm not saying he's going to....we are saying it's a possibility...

I normally dont follow NUBB, but have since Miles came on and just happened to read this thread.. Excuse my ignorance, but what the heck is a high school national championship? and why in gods name would anyone buy into that kind of hype, well other than those who idolize Labron I mean.
