I'll be holding my breath (doing my part for CO2 reduction) that whole stretch. Hoping for the best.

I suppose relative to the rest of the big 10 it is a "murderer's row" but, as we know, the big 10 isn't that strong.
For us it will be a very difficult stretch of games.
I really hate Penn State! (And I'm not that wild about Iowa either.)

It could be referred to as "make or break your season" row.

I expect the defense after a game or two to settle in and play lights out. So Huskers will all four. pass the koolaid.
I hear ya FH, I'm with you on the HUSKERS winning all 4 games.

I am with you in spirit, but I do think the Huskers drop one - just out of exhaustion, hype, deer-in-the-headlights press coverage, etc.
But it may be the only game we lose this year.

We went 2-2 against that group last year and could easily have gone 1-3. They have top notch coaching and a lot of talent. We have some good stories and hopes some people will step up, 2nd year of the new offense, etc. But it's all on the come.
I hoping for 4-0, but predicting 1-3.

This is not the NU of the 90s. Based on the level we are playing at right now, those are 4 very difficult games for us to win. We lost 2 of those games last year and should have lost 3 of them. The OSU game was the biggest comeback in NU history (21 points)) and it took an injury to Miller and a horrible Back-up QB to do it.
I remember the days when Oklahoma was the ony team on our schedule who could challenge us. Those days are over. There are more good teams and good players than ever before. More parity than the old days.
Maybe "murderers" row is kind of an exaggeration, but hey, give me a break....creative writing isn't an exact science, ya know.

definitely a tough stretch - against pre season #15, @#14, #8 & @#12 - prime time match ups which will determine NU's division fate.
Unlike the debbie downers we've heard from all off-season, I'm thinking things will be different the second time around

With only a few hours more than 12 days until kick-off of the season, now is absolutely the time to DREAM BIG and Expect Big things from the Huskers. The way I remember last year, Wisconsin and Michigan lucked out, catching us with a series of injuries (Crick and O-line), young guys learning to play, and a new offense. The MO States got a glimpse of the real team, that will be even better this year. I believe we will win all four of these games, and the complacent top of the BIG gets a lesson in what it means to visit Lincoln. I expect us to have a couple of players win Camp defensive player of the week, as we did a couple of years ago (what was three times with Suh and Crick?) GBR

Wisconsin was a snowball, Michigan flat out put it too us. That being said, I think we go 3-1 in that stretch. With Ohio State being a loss.

I guess the '90s still haven't worn off yet. If you want to use one of the greatest runs in college football history as the standard, be prepared for decades of disappointment. The stars aligned in the 90's for NU. The team had:
*One of the most experienced coaching staffs in college football
*A multi-formation offensive attack the was so effective, teams couldn't stop what they knew was coming
*Unmatched defensive leadership from guys like the Peter bros. and G. Wistrom
*Possibly the best crop of in-state talent ever to arrive at NU at the same time
*One of the greatest college QB's ever
We don't presently have even one of the above. For today's team, that schedule is as tough as it gets. 2-2 is the fat part of the curve. 3-1 wins us the division. 4-0 only happens if TM and offense live up to potential, a couple of newcomers step up on defense (Seisay, Anderson) and we have no key injuries. In other words, it's a long shot.
~Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.~

So more than 50% of Husker fans think we'll lose at least 2 of the "BIG4" games? Wow, isn't there another thread that based on fan predictions says we should go 11-1? Hmmmm.
