I'm a fan of Kearney, but not a fan of Little League baseball: No leading off, no balks, no dropped third strike, not to mention that tiny little diamond they play on. 11 & 12 year olds should be playing "real baseball"!!!

Its also frustrating to me to see no dropped third strike, which certainly encourages pitchers to throw breaking balls as their "out" pitch, with no worries if the curve eats dirt or not.

Congrats to Kearney, but its always disappointing to see this:

Wegner said he plans to pitch Matt Masker, who has thrown 513 innings in the tournament, making three appearances. He’s given up two hits and struck out eight.
“He’s been real good with his control ... and he has a really good curveball with a speed change in it,” Wegner said. “Just keep changing speeds and locations, that will be the key for him.”

I'm not a big fan of 12 year olds throwing curves (which you rarely see in USSSA upper level select baseball), but hey, if he doesn't plan on pitching in high school, why not???
