    Huskers ignoring preseason predictions

Some of the younger Huskers were reaching for a chocolate milk while in kindergarten the last time it happened.
And Kyler Reed? He was just 9 when Nebraska last stood atop its conference as champion, king of the Big 12 in 1999.

Preseason blah blah blah -- I'd rather be under-hyped and over-perform than the other way around. Fact is, nothing matters except what happens between those white lines.

Agree, you can't control what others do in the offseason or who they win/lose to. Just take care of the team in front of you. Made me cringe last year when someone said they didn't watch much film before NW...

Pre-season predictions aren't worth the paper they are printed on.
I really hate Penn State! (And I'm not that wild about Iowa either.)

If someone says they are ignoring something they are by definition not ignoring it.

Hopefully they can use it as motivation.

In that article, Bo says, "I could care less". Which is poor usage. The correct expression is "I couldn't care less".

    Anybody want to tell him?

    Maybe Dirk will.

    Maybe, maybe not.

They're usually based on what a team did the year before with some allowance made for new personnel.

I'll have to dig the numbers up, but about six months ago I researched the records of all FBS teams over a 20 year period. IIRC, in more than 70% of the year to year changes teams varied by no more than 1 win or loss from the prior year. And for teams in the top 20, it's even more static. It was something like .75 wins or losses over the 20 season I looked at.

It's pretty good evidence that teams don't usually vary in record much from year to year.
