British Open
After watching all the preliminary discussion this week I would not have been surprised to see a winning score around +5. Turns out the weather has been very good and all the rain they've had has softened up to course.
Tiger's at -6 and rarely using anything but irons off the tee. If he was hitting some 15-20 putts he'd be much lower. Hitting just about every fairway and green so far. Snedeker at -10 and Adam Scott at -9. Somehow I don't see Snedeker repeating the -10 for the next two rounds. I'm going to guess it will come down to Scott and Tiger on Sunday...hope so anyway. With that idiot caddie of Scott's it would make for a good story line...and Tiger usually rises to the occasion when he's got a bug up his backside.

I would lose alot of balls in that grass if I was playing that course.
Always liked the british, because you can wake up and have something to follow first thing in the morning.
Tiger is playing it smart. Use the irons, play fairway to green, let the others get aggressive and make mistakes. Should be an interesting weekend.

Also, that pitch out of the pot bunker on 18 was key for tiger, difference between being -6 and -4 in all likelyhood.

Scott trying to run away and hide.
Tiger's putting is what's going to keep him from winning. Just isn't making enough putts....of course laying back on every hole is keeping him from having a lot of short birdie putts.
4 shots (McDowell) or 5 shots (tiger) is too much to make up if Scott keeps playing well. Even if he shoots 70 tomorrow one of the others is going to have to shoot a round better than they've shot all week and it's supposed to be windy tomorrow. But if Scott blows a shot or two early it could be a free for all.

Ernie hangs around and posts a score and Adam Scott gags down the stretch. The only way he loses in regulation is by bogeying the last 4 holes...and he managed to do it. He seems like a good guy but his caddie is such a complete pinhead that it doesn't make me too sad to see him blow it. I guess if Stevie Williams likes to take credit for wins I suppose he should take the blame for not being able to get his guy settled down.
Tiger wasn't good today and still it was just a couple swings that keep him out of a playoff or outright win. He needs to get his putter and wedge play straigtened out. It's funny how all the tv clowns are acting as if he can't golf and chew gum at the same time....he did finish 3rd.

the triple bogey did him in
