why don't the companies/websites allow you to create YOUR own questions and answers for security reasons? Why conform to a standard list of questions such as what was your mother's maiden name, street you lived on, etc etc? That makes it so easy for people to steal your identity and hack into your accounts? Why can't we be allowed to create our own questions/answers???

and no I haven't been hacked or anything...just was wondering as I was doing my bills this morning.

I've seen some that do but it's rare. Mother's maiden name is a terrible thing to use as a security question. All you have to do is look at my mom's Facebook profile to get that answer, she's got it right in her profile name.

did you really want to divulge that information???

but this is exactly why we should be allowed to create our own questions/answers.

I'm partial to the question " Does Squatch use Nair? Or does he dry shave.

Those questions are pretty standard, enough so you can create a code that has nothing to do with the question.
