Michael Bradley completes Roma transfer
His value has doubled in one season in Serie A.....looks like Roma is where he may be heading from all of the things I have read........
Chievo Verona sporting director Giovanni Sartori went on the record on Tuesday to discuss interest he has received for Michael Bradley.
Sartori spoke with Italian publication L'Arena.it and admitted that he has had discussions with Roma, Palermo for the American international. He also hinted that he has had spoken with other clubs and that a very big offer could be in the future.

Notre Dame only had one Rudy but Nebraska gets a new crop of Rudys every season

Small update:
Chievo Verona is in talks with multiple Serie A clubs ( Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Inter Milan have been mentioned, though the Inter link appears the weakest rumor of he bunch), but nothing has been finalized. The team most likely to secure Bradley's services? Roma has the deepest pockets and are the biggest of the clubs interested, so that makes them a favorite. That has been the case for months though so there's really nothing new there.
At the moment, the only thing that can be assured at this point is that Bradley will be leaving Chievo this summer

AS Roma set to bring Bradley into fold
Looks like the deal is pretty much done except for salary negotiations....could be announced in the next day or two....big move for him to a top club in need of his help....a well earned and deserved move to one of Europe's top clubs....
Deal for him is cash and two players in return total value in the $16M range...Chievo paid approx. $3M for him last year....

Italian source tells me "only small things left to discuss" in deal for Michael Bradley to move to Roma.
Longtime admirers AS Roma have reached a package deal with Chievo for midfield general Michael Bradley, leaving only completion of a personal terms agreement to send the US ace to the Eternal City.
A source close to the negotiations told MLSsoccer.com that Chievo will receive €3.5 million and midfielder Leandro Greco in exchange for the 24-year-old New Jersey native, if not also the free loan-out of Roma wing prospect Giammario Piscitella. It is expected that Bradley will ink either a contract that ties him to the Giallorossi until the summer of either 2015 or 2016, with the transfer potentially completed by Monday. Neither his agent nor Chievo replied to requests for comment

The talks between Michael Bradley and AS Roma are down to fine print, as it appears the US national team star's move to the Eternal City is all but a done deal.
A source close to the talks told MLSsoccer.com that the personal terms are the final check item between Roma and the 24-year-old Chievo midfielder, with the club hoping to complete the transfer within the next couple of days.
On Monday morning, Chievo technical director Giovanni Sartori told local outlet Gazzetta Giallorossi that Bradley was fully intent on the move to Roma, who agreed a fee for the hot topic American late last week.
"If they want him, they’ll get him," said Sartori. "Bradley wants only AS Roma and we’re working towards this."
the feeling from Roma is mutual, with manager Zdenek Zeman insisting he needs Bradley in preseason camp before the squad leaves next week to kick off their US tour.

As an English friend of mine, who is an Aston Villa fan, put it today 'we look right daft not playing or buying that lad and its all because he was one of your lot (American)'.....its the stereo-type of American players in England right or wrong and it is something Dempsey is still fighting....
Michael Bradley will remain in Serie A, apparently, but has upgraded his Italian address. It’s like he’s moving from a small flat in Verona to a spacious apartment in a lovely Rome neighborhood.
His arrival at Roma, historically one of Serie A’s stronger sides, signals a real elevation in Bradley’s stock

Roma Coming to Red Bull Arena, Perhaps With Michael Bradley
FYI....
Roma will play El Salvador’s national team in an exhibition match at Red Bull Arena on July 27, the last stop on a three-game preseason tour that will first take it to two famous baseball stadiums.
Roma will play the Polish club Zaglebie Lubin on July 22 at Wrigley Field in Chicago, then face Liverpool at Fenway Park in Boston on July 25. Liverpool and Roma both have ties to the Red Sox ownership.
One possible guest on Roma’s tour? The American midfielder Michael Bradley, who appears set to move to Rome after a strong first season in Serie A with Chievo Verona.

Great seeing an American making an impact like that....espically in a country like Italy that we do not have much of a foot print in....will open doors for others the more sucessful he is....and the technicality of the league will only make his game better....

This is great for Michael who has earned this....great for Americans who have the talent and work ethic to play in Italy as it opens doors and great for the USMNT as he will only grow more in arguably the best technical league in the world....
U.S. national team midfielder Michael Bradley reportedly is in Rome on Thursday for a medical exam as a prelude to him signing a four-year contract with Italian club Roma.
Corriere dello Sport, an Italian national sports newspaper based in Rome, reports that Bradley and his attorney, Trigoria Faccini, are in town to iron out any remaining details.
According to the newspaper, the Roma contract would pay Bradley $993,920 per season.

Some final details on the other player etc held up the final signing of the contract....glad this is finally done...
Interesting that they can own 50% of a players contract with another club....
Roma has completed the signing of United States midfielder Michael Bradley from Chievo Verona.
The club confirmed the deal on Sunday, and revealed it had paid Chievo 3.75 million euros ($4.6 million) plus a 50 percent share in Romanian youngster Adrian Stoian.
Bradley has already joined his new teammates at their training camp in Riscone di Brunico.

Still not quite sure I understand this....
It has also been reported that Chievo youngster Adrian Stoian has moved the other way as part of the deal.
The Flying Donkeys have received 50 per cent of the Romanian's rights in exchange for 500,000 euros, which is believed to be a reduced price on account of the Bradley deal.

More:
According to the Roma statement, Bradley went right to work under the direction of the team’s new coach, Zdenek Zeman, along with his new teammates, including Gabriel Heinze, Claudio Pizarro, Aleandro Rosi and Francesco Totti. Bradley is being penciled in as a midfield replacement for Fernando Gago, an on-loan player who has been returned to Real Madrid.
It will not be long until Bradley, who is now a mainstay in the midfield of the United States national team, returns home. Roma is scheduled to play three matches in the U.S.: Zaglebie Lubin of Poland in Chicago on Sunday, Liverpool in Boston three days later and El Salvador at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., on July 27.

Roma has been a consistent contender since, finishing second in the league six times and winning the Coppa Italia in ’07 and ’08. Last year the club was taken over by a consortium led by Boston businessman Thomas DiBenedetto, making it the first Italian team owned by an American. DiBenedetto, who also holds a stake in the group that owns the Boston Red Sox, has said from the start that he wanted a U.S. player at Roma. In Bradley, he has an American who is emerging as a world-class talent.
Deployed as a defensive midfielder, Bradley earned rave reviews for his performances in Verona as he helped the Flying Donkeys to a respectable 10th-place finish in ‘11-12.
Meanwhile, he proved his worth to Klinsmann, overcoming the coach’s initial skepticism with brilliant outings against Slovenia last November and in February’s 1-0 win over Italy in Genoa.
That game, in addition to his consistent quality with Chievo, helped make Bradley a hot commodity in Italy. Clubs like Inter Milan, Napoli and Palermo reportedly were interested in him, and Chievo Sporting Director Giovanni Sartori said in June that was being “followed by half of Europe.”
