    Changes at 1620 in Omaha?

    I heard from a source that I feel is solid and reliable that Kevin Kugler is leaving the show he helped launch on 1620. Heard this last Friday and didn't post it here since 1620 is a partner but did post it on a Omaha developent forum. Got no confirmation there just a lot of speculation. Now today there is a Tweet that there is a "big anouncment" today on the afternoon show. Putting two and two together I will guess that Kevin is moving and and will post this here too.


    That makes me wonder (if true) what is next for him?

    Is he taking on a larger roll with the Big 10 Network, Is his roll with NCAA or NFL coverage growing or moving to TV rather than radio? Is he just tired of the daily show and has enough other things going on to not need it?

    And then the next question is who repalces him on 1620?

    Damon Benning? He is on a lot and hold his own. Not coaching now so this may be an option.
    One of the guys from the AM show? Sure hope not. Not the flavor that I like.
    John Bishop? Has a pretty solid gig in Lincoln if I am correct. so guessing probably not.

    Anyone else hearing anything or have any insight on who fills the opening, if in fact there is one.

    I don't know anything one way or another, but it wouldn't surprise me if he left the show. Nothing stays the same forever.
    I really hate Penn State! (And I'm not that wild about Iowa either.)

    I have the show on for noise when driving to class or from work. When Kugler's not on, it's unbearable.

    Good for Kugler. He's a very good pbp guy. Doesn't seem to have a schtick that he uses as a crutch, and gives a quality broadcast, whether it's TV or radio. I'd have to imagine this means he's getting more TV time, and won't be doing as much with Westwood One radio broadcasts.

    Chik Fil A is comming to Papillion. That is what is being built @ 8710 S. 71st Plaza next to Panda Express

    There is also a second free standing location being built in Bellevue. The existing Carlos O'Kelly building will be torn down on Cornhusker and a new building will be built for CFA. Carlos closed about a month ago and it looks like the building has been gutted. I am guessing it will be coming down any day to make way for new construction.
