The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum--Noam Chomsky
Sure you don't mean For Love of the Game? If so, surrender your man card. And to think I looked forward to seeing it at first ... thought it might be another good Costner baseball flick on the heels of Bull Durham et al. Horrified, it slowly and painfully dawned that it was nothing but a Message in a Bottle/The Bodyguard-esque chick flick deceptively packaged as a sports movie. The producers must've been used car salesmen with that bait and switch. Never have I felt so cheated.
Kevin Costner's finest acting performance: Waterworld or The Postman?
Easily Field of Dreams. Though he's only truly played one character, far as I can tell, his entire career. Which, as far as I can tell, is pretty much his actual personality. So is he playing the character or IS THE CHARACTER PLAYING HIM?????????

Dances with Wolves earns him a pass for every other garbage movies he's done.

I agree with all of the above...with the exception of those I don't agree with. Costner's acting chops go all the way from A to B. But, you know what....he has succeeded on a large scale in a very tough business...and, as a result, he gets to perform the classic "laughing all the way to the bank," dance. BTW...I thought he got jobbed on Waterworld.
Actually his latest turn as Devil Anse Hatfield was pretty good. Fits his demeanor perfectly. Stoic, always looking like he is either passing gas or deliberating how to kill you.

Tin cup, untouchables, dances with wolves, bull Durham, and yes I'll say it....the bodyguard. Yes I think he's great. Oh and I'll throw one out for the one with Duvall too. That was a great flick!
