I screwed around in high school myself and almost didn't qualify....and graduated from college with a 3.6 GPA....so I tend not to read too much into a high school GPA...
I have seen firsthand how stud athletes are graded in Texas...I am honestly guessing they probably spotted him 2.0 of the 2.9 throughout his high school career

FYI...

2013 Iowa QB Joel Lanning tells me that he hasn't committed to Nebraska or anywhere despite reports otherwise. #huskers

"No, I haven't committed to anyone, and don't know when I'm going to either," Lanning told HuskersIllustrated.com

Honestly, I am not that concerned about it. Taylor Martinez is going to be a three-year starter (although this year will be his moment of truth one way or the other). Jamal Turner has a chance to be a stud at WR. And as far as Bubba Starling, we probably get more publicity out of him than just about anyone not named Suh.
I'm more concerned with the run vs pass aspect as noted by Bilsker. And one other thing that always concerns me, good running QBs don't necessarily always make good option QBs either (if we are looking for QBs from that aspect).

You have to watch those Iowa kids like hawks. Especially the ones close to Des Moines. Don't forget the ISU coach is from Ankeny.

As I thought its a conditonal offer....
As fbknowledge suggested baseball mybe his future...

With that said, bils, do you consider T-Mart a true "Dual threat" QB?

Marty Tirrell is still sticking to his guns and is stating that he will be playing "d" at NU.
I would give my life for anyone one of them as i would my own family. -Pops
It doesn’t matter if the glass is half full or half empty. What matters is you have a glass that has something in it. Some people have no glass, or have a glass with nothing in it. So appreciate all that is in your life and quit questioning whether your glass in half full or half empty.

Total fabrication or did something slip before it's time?

TM in my opinion:
1. True running plays: Dangerous runner with a huge hole...average at best without. No moves. No power (i.e. frost or other guys who had an ability to break a tackle once in a while).
2. Busted passing plays: Harsh as it may sound he's probably the worst QB I can recall in a husker uniform at either scrambling or buying time.
3. As a passer: Average. Which in an offense like this could be acceptable. Statistically I'm guessing (without looking) he's in the same league as Frazier as a Sr., Frost, and many others.
But being an OK rusher, poor scrambler and average passer? Those guys made of for being "average" passers in ways that we haven't seen TM do so yet. That, and their offenses relied on the pass less...diminishing the downside of just being average passers.

Not a bad evaluation.

TM.... a dual threat that's not really a dual threat...... more of the T-magic Paradox...
