We have the room and it makes sense....so I disagree....
Turner has not flipped back and forth nor would this young man once the decision is made....

If he starts out at QB...that means we are set to carry 6 QBs on scholarship next year and only 3-4 RBs (assuming we take one this year). That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If he doesn't start out at QB......I don't think it is real easy to just drop the other position and take up the QB spot if it'd be necessary.
As I've said above. Give me a second pure RB in this class over an Athlete that we will likely flip flop back and forth.

If I had the same respect for this kid as an athlete as I did Turner, I'd be much more intrigued by it.
Really want to see where this room is coming from. If we take 28 or more...I can see it....but I don't see us approaching that number. We have 9 right now. IMO, 1 QB, 2 RB, 1 WR (Morrow), 2 TE, 3 OL, 2 DT, 1 DE, 1 LB, 3 DB are all needed. Those numbers alone put us at 25.

Respect for him? Really? You need to go watch his film and read about him......so I disagree...and your verbage once again is a bit strong in my opinion....its one thing to not like a kids ability....but go the 'respect' route...a bit harsh....but thats just me...this kid is going to make someone a fine player in my opinion...and the staff it appears disagree's with you too....
We are not going to take two RBs....and yeah I know that is your thing....with Cross taken last year, when we were not planning to take a 'back, we are in very good shape as Heard is more than likely going to be back at RB once fall camp opens....
We will take 25-28 guys and I'll stand on that....you can remind me come Feb if I'm wrong.....
Last I looked Morrow has committed to no one...and its not a lock....no matter what RSS says...
I don't belong to RSS like you do....but have a few sources none the less...

I wasn't disrespecting him. I was saying that I don't think he is near the player/athlete that Turner is.
To me, he's not the caliber of athlete I bring in, in lieu of someone else. At least not this early. If we swing and miss on Morrow and other WR prospects then maybe. Same can be said for DB. He's a good athlete, but not dynamic. He's way down my list of QBs. And I don't see the need for 2 Qb in this class. He's also down my list on WR prospect.
A second RB makes much more sense than a 6th QB or 9th WR. We seem to want to play with fire at RB and overly stock up elsewhere.
If we have a bunch of people depart and we start taking 27, 28, 29 guys then this goes out the window. But I don't see that. If we are taking 26 or less....there are a number of positions that I'd prefer to see filled first (as shown above).
Long story short, it comes down to filling needs. IMO, the role he will play comes way, way behind some of the needs we already have. If we didn't have scholarship limits/restrictions, then by all means...take him. Unfortunately we do though, and there are just quite simply a number of players/positions that I'd prefer to have filled first.

Wanting Stanton or Scott more is a bad deal???? Sheesh wth has this board come to?
I would give my life for anyone one of them as i would my own family. -Pops
It doesn’t matter if the glass is half full or half empty. What matters is you have a glass that has something in it. Some people have no glass, or have a glass with nothing in it. So appreciate all that is in your life and quit questioning whether your glass in half full or half empty.

Hobbs told a Scout site that he was down to a final 3 of us, Arkansas State and Missouri and wants to make a decision this summer

Here is an article on Hobbs' visit.
http://nebraska.scout.com/2/1194668.html
The Nebraska visit couldn’t have been any better for Hobbs; he gives Lincoln a perfect score. Looking back at his time in Nebraska he says that it was really the people that he met on his visit that stood out to him.
“I would say that it was a “10”. It’s a “10”. I learned so much so quickly over a short period of time. It was just so good. I really liked the people there

Decision coming anytime now. Took his Mizzery visit and now is done with visits.

I have seen Cedar Hill on video, when I was coaching in Texas, several times. I can assure you that if Hobbs is playing WR/QB at Cedar Hill he is a gifted athlete. There team is loaded with FBS talent. There are always going to be better athletes out there somewhere, but from my experience I am going to say not to many that are a lot better.
Scholarships are only wasted if a guy doesn't contribute. If memory serves me correctly 1/3 of the 25-28 in the class or 8-10 of them will never play a meaningful down.

Thanks for your insight again....
Pretty accurate on the bold below...
