2012 CWS
Looks like as of Sunday morning Pac 12 is securing their spots in Omaha.
In are Arizona and UCLA
Stony Brook has given LSU a run for their money with a determining game today. Don't know how to feel on this one. Always nice to see an underdog in Omaha but LSU seems to be a Local favorite.
Kent St is up 1 -0 on Oregon. Bit of a suprise.
Time to start to gear up for the CWS!

oregon didnt even have a program 5 years ago....nike money can do wonders
-
Stony Brook and Kent State are good stories but it is better for Omaha if the likes of LSU and their large following ($$$) make it to the CWS.
-
6 games this afternoon and evening. NC State and Fla underway in the 3rd and no score.

LSU most definitely needs to be in Omaha. It's been 3 yrs, they need to experience TD Trade (great ballpark) and the atmosphere that is a far cry from Rosenblatt...not for the better. Tailgating at the Trade is SoPo corporate now.
I doubt too many people from Long Island will make the trip if Stony Brook wins... Long way and short turnaround
-
even so, in the top of the 3rd, it's
Stony Brook 4
LSU 1

Along with Arizona and UCLA, Florida punched their ticket by beating NC St 9-8.

Arkansas beat Baylor 5-4, so the elimination game is Monday.

Florida St may be the next team to be heading to Omaha as they are ahead of Stanford 8-2 in the top of the 6th.

In a game in which S Carolina can eliminate Oklahoma, there is no score thru 5 innings.

The crazy thing about LSU is many of their fans fromLA will be in Omaha even if their team isn't. Granted there will be a lot more if they are here but no matter what they will have a presence.
-
LSU without a hit thru 3 innings, although got two on with walks last inning.

When can we hope that the Huskers could get as good as Stony Brook? Good grief, the Seawolves are not that far removed from being a DIII team and are going for their 51st win tonight.

LSU is really playing sloppy. The catcher throws the ball into CF on a walk and the runner goes to 3rd.

would be so cool if Stony Brook could get there
-
End of 5
Stony Brook 6
LSU 1

This Stony Brook team is playing some of the best fundamental baseball I've seen in a long time. Their pitching staff, top to bottom, might be the best in the tournament. I think they are a legit threat to win it all, assuming LSU doesn't pull a miracle out of their ass tonight.

Honestly Stony Brook is going for a three game sweep......they gave game one away with errors
