Andromeda galaxy now certain to collide with Milky Way

in 4 billion years, according to NASA. No point cleaning the garage today, I guess.

The signature I set in August 2014: Bo Pelini to his players: "It doesn't matter where you start ... It's going to be how we put things together, how we grow and how we come together as a team. It's not going to be the best collection of talent, it's going to be the best team. ...." - Bo Pelini, Big 10 Media Days, 2014

What Bo Pelini told his players after he was fired: "because of the environment that's here....I think you guys feel that. Am I right or wrong? It's a b---- here."

The thing is, the distances between stars is so great that Andromeda will mostly pass through the Milky Way with little effect.

The new finding is that they won't pass through, but will merge. Will individual stars collide? Very few.

But this is a football board, so what about this:

The Milky Way, as it exists now, is a flat disc shape similar to a frisbee. Andromeda is more spherical. When the two combine, they will form an "elliptical galaxy," or what van der Marel described as a football-shaped galaxy.
    Coincidence? I think not!

Will the Milky Way mostly dodge and deflect the Andromeda Galaxy?

I think Andromeda had better prepare itself for a really futile and stupid gesture to be done on Milky Way's part...

A George divided against itself can not stand
"The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- (Thomas Jefferson)
“Make yourselves sheep and the wolves will eat you.” -- (Benjamin Franklin)

Aggies think it will look like one of their marching band's crossing maneuvers, so they will create a yell for it.
