Looks like Michigan and PSU are doing a good, if not better, job.

I thought the Banderas kid would make the list too. Isn't he a little more highly regarded in the other rating services?

A buddy of mine is a PennSt alum and he is thrilled with their recruiting so far. He said that Paterno being gone has opened up all kinds of options for them since the kids have a good idea who the coach may be in four years.

That's a great point. Every recruiting class for probably the past 10-15 years had been filled with uncertainty on Paterno continuing to coach due to age and health. And no doubt some recruits wouldn't even consider Penn State due to this uncertainty.

Add into that the fact that their offense has been largely stagnant for most of those years as well -- and it wasn't at all appealing to offensive recruits. I have to believe bringing in the offensive coordinator from the always high-powered Patriots changes that mind set -- even if only temporarily (until proven otherwise). No idea how successful the new regime will be -- but from a recruiting perspective, it does add interest and excitement to the program.

Hasn't Penn State's past 10 recruiting classes simply been the sons of former Penn St. alum?
