We have a Walk on - Evan Williams

Unsportsmanlike Conduct - "just chatted with new Nebraska Associate AD Jamie Williams. He told us his son Evan will be walking on with the Huskers at quarterback. Here's more on the newest Williams football player at Nebraska."

Interesting. I know athletic coaches' children are required to be on scholarship. Surprised the same doesn't apply to those with front office jobs in the AD.

Nonetheless, glad to have him on board!

    Wasn't his dad a walk-on who made All-American?
    I'd settle for that.

I recall Jimmy and Toby Williams were walk-ons. I thought Jamie was a two sport scholarship athlete.

Adam Watson, the son of Shawn Watson, was a walk-on.

Adam Watson provided depth in the secondary and on special teams throughout his Nebraska career. A walk-on, Watson also spent time at receiver during his career, but missed his senior season because of a shoulder injury. Watson graduated in December of 2010 with a degree in communication studies.

Adam is the son of Shawn and Anita Watson and was born on April 2, 1988. He has assisted with the Huskers' team hospital visits and YMCA Healthy Kids Day.

Though I didn't have the type of athletic receivers I'm used to, we had a good year and I feel that I'm a more complete quarterback because the coaching was outstanding at the Tilton School. My goal is to continue to play quarterback.........

Man, way to throw your receivers under the bus.

Yep. Now we all understand why we keep turning away all those 5* QBs.

    Cassidy was a walk-on.

Thanks, Brasky. Wasn't aware of that. I'll have to look back into that. Thought coach's kids had to take a schollie, largely to keep schools from employing recruits parents as coaches. Shows what I know.

This only applies if your last name is Cotton.

Just kidding. I know everyone was thinking it.

    Welcome aboard Evan.

    Welcome aboard Evan!!
I sure was a fan of your father as a Cornhusker and later as a 49er.
