Now Indiana up 6-4 with a 4 run 8th. In a strange way, we may be better off in Indiana holds on because otherwise we would play them tomorrow in what would be our 4th game of the tourney and it would only be Indiana's 2nd game. With MSU, it will at least be their 3rd game.

Go Choo Choo Trains! Bust some Nuts tonight!
I would much rather face OSU tomorrow and a rematch with MSU after we win the OSU game, than have the MSU rematch early, win that and then have to play PU.
Better to play seed #6 & #5 than #5 & #1.

I would just like to see the PU-OSU game go about 20 innings.

OSU leads Purdue 1-0 going into bottom of 1st
Can't figure out how 149 looks like 200!!! I thought numbers didn't lie?

Huskers play lower seed of late game losers, right? If Purdue wins, Huskers get tOSU and an tOSU upset means MichSt.
...and then they have to play the other loser for the right to play the loser of PU/OSU vs Indiana game?
Have I already commented on how much this tourney format BLOWS?

True that. To win out the Huskers would play 7 games and have to win 6 in a row. To even out the innings, we have to hope that some of these games go at least 20 innings.

The advantage of having a bye and then winning two games is incredible. You can finish the tournament in 3 games total.

After 3 complete, Purdue leads OSU 2-1.

Would love to face OSU tomorrow at noon if they have to play until after midnight tonight. Go Buckeyes! Tie it up.

Yep, that would be nice! Hopping for a 13-10 type game that lasts about 4 1/2 hours and they use all their pitchers! I'm not greedy!

I'd like Purdue more tomorrow with a chance to knock them out. Knowing they're down the road somewhere is worse than knowing Ohio State is down the road.

Purdue defeats Ohio St 5-4, so we meet the Buckeyes tomorrow at noon EDT. It will be each teams third game. Win that one and we have a rematch with Michigan St. at 3:25 EDT.

#1 Purdue and #2 Indiana have the big advantage and will meet for the right to play in the championship game.

For those that like to dream big (think delusions of grandeur), five more wins and the Huskers are B1G tournament champs, earn an automatic berth in the NCAA playoffs, and will get to 40 wins on the season.

Delusion is the right word. This format in the B1G is stupid

What do you mean? Lose once and then all you have to do is survive six straight elimination games and knock out all five other teams in the tourney.Meanwhile, the winners bracket team has to play 3 or 4 games total.

Sounds simple enough. I wonder who dreamed up this format.

In defense of the tourney format, at least the Big 10 "knows its place" and doesn't take 8 teams, probably half of those don't deserve to play in a conference tourney.
This format protects the top two teams from being upset, and thus maximizing the chances for at-large bids (note the MVC, the sixth best conference, has had the 1, 2, & 3 seeds knocked out).
With the strength of the current teams in the B1G, you could probably go one futher and make this a four team tourney and no one would notice.
