Husker Golf?
Blessed with a relatively calm day today, I have had time to do a little review. I note we have a golfer by the name of Scott Willman. He apparantly qualified to make it to the regional NCAA golf playoffs. Scott placed 40th among indiviuals, he shot 75-77-75 at the Norman regional. i do not know if that means he was 40th nationally, or 40th at the Norman regional. There were four regionals. In any event, apparently he was the only UNL golfer to compete at the NCAA's. This is the best we can do? I imagine there is scholarship money spent on our golf competitors. I would like to suggest we give it up, and transfer that money to the baseball program, specifically for some pitchers!

I believe he was 40th in the Regionals.
You can't transfer scholarship money from one sport to another. You are only allowed so many scholarships per sport. You could eliminate the sport, but you can't just "transfer" the scholarship money.
I really hate Penn State! (And I'm not that wild about Iowa either.)

Being a cold weather state, it is doubtful that NU will ever be very competitive in golf. The top golfers want to go to colleges in warm weather states where they can play the year round.

Don't forget about Steve Friesen...LH graduate and UNL graduate.
Last I heard, he's on the nationwide tour?

Yes, we have had some pretty decent individuals, but we will never be strong in golf as a team.
