    Prayers/Thoughts for My Grandmother, Please

    Hi all,

My Grandmother passed away yesterday at the age of 97. We would appreciate your prayers and/or thoughts, as you believe. It was difficult at the end (as it always is) but she had a very long and full life, and a great family to show for it. We are going home for her funeral tomorrow and I will be away for a while, so please accept my thanks in advance as I may not get a chance to post for a few days at least.

I lost my wonderful grandmother at the age of 91 this past January, had the great fortune to be back home and tell her how much I love her the day before she passed even though she was no longer awake at that point. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

God bless her eternally. May she take the high ground and save you a seat.

That is very similar to what happened to me... I went back to Omaha to visit her for her 97th birthday (May 13) even though she had been unconscious for a couple of weeks and was slipping away. When I kissed her, told her we all love her, and that my wife and daughter wished they could have come with me to visit her, she opened her eyes, said something we couldn't make out, and closed her eyes again. I don't believe she came out of it again before she passed a few days later, so I was very lucky to be there.

    I appreciate it, everyone.

Thanks for the update Miles, and I'm glad you got to tell her goodbye before she passed.
