Thumbs up Nebraska offers dual-threat QB Damion Hobbs

Offer came yesterday for another Texas High School QB....Beck has big-time connections down there as we know....gives us three open offers now....

    Plays 5A ball in Texas...so top-tier compeition....

EDIT: Looks an under the radar kid who split time between QB abd WR as a Jr in high school thus his stats below refelct that...still impressive none-the-less....

As a junior, Hobbs ran the ball 110 times for 875 yards and 11 scores-- in addition to completing 68 percent of his passes, eight ending in touchdowns, for 997 yards through the air.

ESPN tidbit on him from March 30....

QB Damion Hobbs: McGuire gave Hobbs the ultimate compliment for dual-threat quarterbacks, calling him the best signal-caller he’s had to read the run game. Hobbs threw for 997 yards and eight touchdowns and rushed for 875 yards and 11 touchdowns in only seven starts. Hobbs, 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, also only threw one interception for the season. Hobbs, who has offers Arkansas State, Oregon State and Iowa State, showed significant improvement in his passing at the Elite 11 at Cowboys Stadium.

Damion could be a second QB we take because he can also play WR thus giving us more options...never hurts to have an athlete or two onboard...and who knows maybe he becomes the #1 choice before its all said and done....

Well, this would probably answer my question in the other thread. Taking two QBs this class with a situation like this makes sense. Hobbs opens some options if he is to commit to us. He's of the height to play WR but also Qb for us without possibly having to switch positions to play at the next level. Beck seems to be making moves down there in Texas at the moment.
