    I think all children should be raised in a safe, loving home.

    Depends....most abuse cases come from married couples rather than single parents.

    That statistic would surprise me greatly, especially if the single parent significant other is live in. The only way is see it as possible is that a majority of kids are still raised in 2 parent households and/or one member of the married couple is willing to report abuse more often than a single parent.
