Obamacare saves billions for companies
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012...est=latestnews
Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee surveyed the top 100 companies about how much they spent on health care -- a total of 71, covering 5.9 million employees, responded. The results suggested it would be far more attractive for companies to drop workers from those plans than keep them.
Even after paying a penalty of $2,000 per employee, the companies stand to save $28.6 billion in 2014 alone by shifting employees to health insurance exchanges governed by strict federal standards. The companies stand to save more than $422 billion over the first 10 years of the law by doing this.

I certainly hope so. Personal responsibility and all that. Besides, I'm a big BIG fan of getting employers completely away from providing health insurance to their employees.

Obamacare doesn't force any of the companies to drop your health plan. Just as they always have, they have the choice to provide it to you or not. It's the companies decision. Not the governments.

Obama can't help it if companies didn't live up to his word...welcome to government exchanges!

How about for every dollar a company saves the health care system lowers their cost of treatment.
office visit ...from 80 to 40
MRI from ungodly amount to, reasonable
etc etc etc

For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.

That's all well and good, but under this report, I'm going to lose access to my current health insurance, I'm going to be forced into these highly government regulated plans and it's going to cost me more money.

Come on you are better than that. The fine is way under what the employer insurance coverage could ever be. Obamacare was designed to get companies to dump their employees into the government exchanges.

LOL.
Of course the dangers of market based pricing versus government subsidized programs is ignored by the simple minded ... Until the market priced systems are destroyed and all that's left is the government system.
Sounds like a great plan.

I don't expect companies to have feelings. Feelings don't pay the bills.

The companies are not forced to do anything. If they care so much about you and their employees they will continue to provide coverage.

#1 Infractor

The new exchanges would offer several choices of plans, and workers would get generous federal subsidies -- which only phase out at about $88,000 income.
The higher cost of subsidies, though, would fall on the taxpayers
