Watched the vid.. nice outside shot, I almost thought it was a three and second was a nice pick and roll.

As basketball coaches like to say, "You can't coach seven feet"
About being 7'2" in shoes, I remember a journalist questioning a player who was listed as 7'. The journalist said, "You are listed as 7", but you are only 6"11" without shoes.
The reply - "I don't play barefoot."

Way to close the deal Mr Miles and your staff!!
Thank God you don't use the football close of "Oh No! Don't commit now, go home and talk to Mommy first, and then you can decide later!"

Why the gloom and doom from some on here? If the kid is a bust then so be it, but can we wait and at least see him practice first? He is over 7 foot!!!!!!

So, is he put on a 6000 or 7000 calorie per day diet when he arrives?

Yeah just what we need. Get him up to 335.

Because if this kid was signed with Doc at the helm we would be rolling our eyes

As Cornfield noted good range on the jumper and nice dunk off pick and roll. From watching briefly on tape he would have made last year's team so I don't know why anyone would knock the young man. At the very least it's a roster upgrade with the potential to be so much more.
A buddy of mine was an assistant with the Canadian Jr. Women's team when they played at the World's in Serbia. He said you couldn't turn around without bumping into a church or a basketball hoop.

No! If he was signed by Doc he would either be so fat and out of shape that he could not be able to run up and down the floor with out having to stop for a smoke, or Doc would have no idea about his grades and then blame the clearing house for doing their job, or the young man's knees or feet would be so bad that they would be in casts or at least crutches their first day of practice!
So no, don't even compare Docs recruiting to Mr Miles!

What do you have against 7'1 players with offers from ACC, SEC and BigTen schools?
This isn't Doc Sadler. This is a new coach. A new coach who has done nothing to warrant such constant negativity from some. It always amazes me how some go through life constantly dwelling on the negative.

I agree. Although I will say it's not like Nebrasketball and optimism/hope usually go in the same sentence. But like I said in the other thread I started, I just get a good feeling about what is going on. I think this ship gets turned around under Miles. No, we will never be a KU or Duke, but I think he gets us that coveted tourney win while in Lincoln.

Yep.
Of course there's never any guarantees for success when it comes to Husker hoops -- and we have plenty of history to back that up. But I do strongly believe you have to stand behind the new coach 100%. Give him the benefit of the doubt unless he proves otherwise down the road. There's plenty of reason for optimism (which Miles' personality alone gives some), but maybe the biggest right now is that we aren't entering another season with Doc. The vast majority of us realized it had reached a dead end.
Anyhow, as I've said probably a dozen or more times now, Tim Miles has me more excited for Husker hoops than I've felt in 15+ years.

I'm pretty sure that was him who won the jump ball.
50sec. in he comes off a pick and roll and jams it down with authority, that itself would be a welcome change. I personally believe that nothing gets the crowd juiced more than a dunk with attitude or a big blocked shot.

Wrong, he's standing outside the circle with his blue tenny's on.

Win some games, then I'll be optimistic.
