I'm genuinely surprised to see you taking Dan Savages side in all this. Kudos to you.

Looks like a lot of folks are narrow-minded and like to see a group of people in our society shunned and ostracized.

Dan Savage is everything he says he hates....
“We want a society where people are free to make choices, to make mistakes, to be generous and compassionate. This is what we mean by a moral society; not a society where the state is responsible for everything, and no one is responsible for the state.” ― Margaret Thatcher.

Which is pretty much what everyone said about civil rights "agitators."

It's tough to avoid his central point, which is the bible seems to be invoked only selectively.

    He's right.

Go ahead and read Leviticus, then follow it. Follow Paul's teaching about slaves. And the place of women. Do it, if you feel so strongly about gays and homosexuality. Live the word, as you want others to live the word. You won't, because you know your interpretation of it is wrong.

The notion that the Bible is wrong about one thing is proof that it is wrong about another thing is, well, wrong.

His point is that it's used to justify one notion while many, many others are conveniently ignored (kosher) or fully accepted as being 100% wrong (slavery) And, in fact, the bible has been used to justify all sorts of crimes against humanity.

I don't dispute that but I think he's also trying to imply that homosexuality is not immoral because the Bible is often wrong. He'd be better off pointing out passages that seem to promote homosexuality.

The Quran is wrong about many things too but he didn't single out Muslims in the video. Does he do that elsewhere?

I wonder if Dan has ever spoken out against the Koran or Islam?

Hating gay sex is an "all timesies law", slavery and cotton poly blends and more than one type of crops were only "part timesies laws". Those didn't actually carry over after the last rewrite.

Where does logic fall in the whole "timesies" thing?
