I dont know much about the arena - why did they choose that location? Seems isolated with tracks running on both sides??

I haven't seen plans of what the finished arena is supposed to look like. From those of you that are following, is it going to have a 21st century splash on the exterior, or was there consideration to giving some blend to the area? That's one thing where I can give credit to CU: they really had a master plan and new additions/construction on campus share similar stone exteriors...

The tracks are being moved when the new Amtrak station opens.

Okay. Great. Wonderful. So what in the name of HuskerMax is a Pinnacle Bank Arena? What's it for? Why do otherwise intelligent commentators on this board seem to be happy about this?

Are you sure it isn't the Barnacle Prank Arena?

Other than farming, nothing screams Nebraska to me more than those mile-long Union Pacific coal trains, hauling fossil fuels out of Wyoming's Powder River Basin back east. Wyoming produces 40% of the coal in the United States, and nearly all of it comes streaking back across the plains of my favorite state.

Unfortunately, those tracks there belong to Burlington Northern.

LOL, I assume you're joking. Although I do know it's pretty sleepy out there on the Oregon Coast. But just in case you aren't joking. Pinnacle Bank bought the naming rights for the new city arena where UNL mens and womens hoops will play.
