No he wouldn't....it had nothing to do with it as his father said in the article and in the LJS.....

We punish Rex with record carries this year and we just might be without him when it counts. Good luck to Aaron...I suspect he will get plenty of attention in the next few weeks.

I do think we should continue to recruit the best out there, but there is probably a higher likelihood for prima donnas among the best of the best. Some will work out and some won't.

His father said he wished his son would have been more patient...meaning what? If he got more touches he would have less reason to be impatient...or no? Maybe it wasn't the touches...maybe the sytem...who knows. Maybe he's wasn't good enough to be on the field. I guess we'll never know. Not saying its the end of the world or Bo's fault but its a blow and that you can't deny. He has talent...whether he's willing to work to utilize it may have been the problem. I'd bet Bo didn't take this as casually as some on this board are. We act like we have all this super talent waiting in the wings like its the nineties...and we really don't. Maybe that's unrealistic but losing a kid of this caliber is not what we need. To make it over the hump on offense we need play makers at RB, QB and WR and one just walked out the door.

So it might, and I say might, have been PT after all. Or he may have already made up his mind. Just Sean's opinion but valid thought.

You and I disagree on this...
I don't find it such a big blow...he did little if anything for us last season...so honestly the loss is not that big of a deal because we saw so little...I would rather have a kid who wants to be at Nebraska and is happy....
I agree he has potential...but we have yet to see it...we have some good RBs and that is a fact.....
Its not the 90's anymore and never will be again in my opinion with the new college football landscape...ie. web, twitter, facebook etc....
And honestly the odds are not in his favor...most transfers don't work out so well....but best to him none-the-less....

I think his dad said it was about wanting to get the ball "in space" more...not a playing time issue.

Yup....and that is the bottom line....

Not anymore there isn't. Unless heard moves back...which, if I was him I wouldn't be too excited about having already made a move.

This theme keeps getting repeated...over and over. Yet his DAD said it was SYSTEM and not playing time.

That is the definition of 'potential'... no?

Let's be honest here, does anyone think this kid is going to see significant carries or PT at either position if they don't let him focus on one or the other? We have enough RB's on the roster. Rex is very durable and then we have Abdullah and Cross coming in this fall. Cross is a very physically mature kid for his age and should be able to fill in as a 3rd stringer while hopefully preserving his redshirt. Especially so if we're going to give Morrow some carries.
EXACTLY.
One of the LJS guys was on the radio today and said Heard moving back wasn't guaranteed. But RR likes to portray himself as an insider so who knows...if he ends up guessing the right side of the coin he will be sure to remind us he was right and continue to pretend he "knew".

I guess no matter how many times this story plays out, people will continue to believe a player will be great because they were great in high school.
Obviously it was other people holding him back and not letting him be successful. Our coaches need to learn a lesson.
Of course, as Green fades off into the proverbial footnote to news, as another example of failed potential without the work ethic required, no matter how many times it happens, hype is a strong emotion.
Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Agreed about the transfers and maybe he wasn't going to be the feature back we all envisioned. But, I will say this, 24 touches is why he didn't show much last year. 2 per game is hardly a barometer on gauging talent. Having said that, its obvious that Bo and company didn't see enough in practice to warrant more touches in the game...but then again...NO ONE really got touches, except Rex...even when he was a deaths door. That's my only problem with this. Tell me Aaron Green wouldn't have benefited from 50 carries last year and I'll tap out.

Completly agree with this, Does the name Bryce Brown mean anything. He was a very highly recruited back and transfered around and never really played much and was drafted in the 7th round by the Eagles. Point is he was also a 5 star recruit that wanted everything handed to him and didn't want to work for it. IMHO

I hope Heard stays on defense. There's a reason he was the one asked to move...so he should stay there.
