No offer yet, but the Huskers are interested in former Lincoln East DE Devon Nash who is playing ball at Iowa Western CC (in Council Bluffs)....has an offer from Kansas State...JUCO recruits have not yet been rated....good shot at being a 4**** once that happens....would expect him to be 'N' if offered....

Looks like from research on him (Deon Long) on the web that he is well traveled....Played at WVU in 2009....transfered to New Mexico and sat for a year and then played at New Mexico in 2011 and is slated to play at Iowa Western CC in 2012....

So it appears grades are not an issue....interesting....

Based on this I would think he is a 2-2 guy having played at New Mexico in 2010 and Iowa Western this year....

Had 47 catches for 809 yards and 4 TD with an avg catch of 1.2 yards in 2011 for a 1-11 New Mexico team....

Also looks like there may have been some issues with former WVU Head Coach Stewert....thus the first transfer...

He didn't make a whole lot of noise coming out of high school. Just spoke with a class mate said that (long story short) discipline not talent was the reason for his choice to go JUCO. Says the kid was always a good athlete

Ok so apparently WVU didn't count against him or something? The math here is confusing... WVU and sitting a year for transferring only counted one year total - assuming RS based on the following numbers - he was 4 for 4 upon arriving @ UNM for the 2011 season, then he would be 3 for 3 @ Western IA for '12, and 2 for 2 for '13. There is no way you would offer him though if he was 1 for 1, so yes, definitely missing some details.

Correct it appears he is a 2-2 guy after all....so he actually enrolled at WVU.....but left with in a couple of months thus never actually played football or RS etc...

Long, who enrolled in January but hasn't participated in spring practice, is reportedly looking at a handful of schools, although not all have offered scholarships

Long twice signed letters of intent with West Virginia, first out of high school and then after a semester at Hargrave Military Acadmey. He didn't qualify academically the first time, but stuck with his commitment.

Long came to West Virginia this winter from Hargrave Military Academy after having a sensational career at Dunbar High School in Washington D.C., the same school that produced Illinois receiver Arrelious Benn.

He didn’t possess the same type of size as Heastie but he was every bit as explosive.

After enrolling in January, Long showed little dedication to winter workouts and seemed aloof from the team.

After not making the initial spring roster, it seemed inevitable that the two would eventually depart from the school. Even with Bill Stewart saying he would welcome them back if they were ready to do the work, neither seemed up for the challenge.
