I agree Tommy will be the next Husker QB.. can't wait. We will get a solid QB in the next class IMO

IMPO Nebraska should really amp up their push for Brayden Scott. I know Beck wants the athletic threat in his QBs, but Scott is a really good looking prospect although he is not the athlete or threat running the ball like his other top targets.

Honestly I thought Nebraska would get either Malik Zaire or Aaron Bailey to be their QB of the '13 class. Surprised they missed out on both of them. Like Red Reign and others have said, it is far from panic time though.

How so? Isn't recruiting essentially a 24x7x365 job? Especially for the most important position on the team. To me, it would seem that to make certain we recruit the best possible QB for our offense that all of the coaches would be working their butts off to make that happen. I assume they are doing that.

I'm guessing that they are working their butts off... but 24/7/365 wow this is really not that life or death as you make it seem. We will get another QB, remember Todd Reesing under Becks system at Kansas? He was not a super high rated QB and low and behold he became a really good QB in their system, we will find the same kind of Guy if not better to run our system just fine. Keep the faith. GBR

No but sometimes I think they should look at the whole picture before they immediately put a negative spin on it.

Winning cures a lot....we start winning, and are in a tight race for the Legends division, or clinch it after the Michigan game....others will come from nowhere if we don't have a "high-caliber" QB committed by then. I would imagine we get a QB to commit before the season starts, but people could start having second thoughts if we start winning and see that our QB is a RS Jr and they will only have to sit for one year then have an open competition....

Panic button is far from needing to be hit. We would have liked to have Bailey be the guy, but it's not over and there are plenty of QBs out there still. Notre Dame didn't get the QB of their class until January, less than a month before signing day.

Appears Bailey was not the silent commit....there is a second one and he will nto annouce anytime soon....that is all I can tell you....
Notre Dame only had one Rudy but Nebraska gets a new crop of Rudys every season

I think it's a stretch to say we will find the same kind of guy as a Reesing. Maybe in terms of ranking/interest but not in terms of production.

Bo hasn't recruited a QB as good as Reesing yet in his time here (though I'm optimistic about Armstrong)....so yeah..I do think it is a stretch to say at this point.

I'm optimistic on TA and think he's far better than his ratings and what people want to give him credit for. I think he is a far better prospect than a Aaron Bailey for example. That being said....I'm not chalking him up as being as productive/good as Reesing until he actually performs.

Agree and have said so a few times...

Reesing was a system QB....nothing more and nothing less.....

Bingo... We have a winner... We can find a system QB in the next class no doubt in my mind.

If we take two, which isn't a given at this point, there will be a specific effort to bring in one who is more set as a quarterback and another who could be moved to another position. Think of it as this: If the right talent is there, they're looking for a Armstrong type and a Jamal Turner type.

    Would agree.

That doesn't mean we can find a system QB for us either.

I personally don't want to see 2 QBs taken. Just find one good overall prospect at the position.

We have Martinez, Carnes, Marsh, Armstrong, 2012 recruit, Brokemeier, Ridder and Fife at QB next year. We are pretty good there. I'd much rather see us get a second RB, third tight end, actually recruit a competent center, third or fourth d-end, extra d-tackle, safety..you name it.
Based on sheer numbers...the need is greater elsewhere IMO

One of the perks of recruiting athletic QB's... if they don't pan out at least there are other ways of getting them on the field instead of just having them eat a scholarship
