Are you really meaning this unfortunate situation with the 2 month old in South Carolina several days ago? That is a bad situation. What were the parents thinking?

I wonder what the "mix" was...

What I find incredible is the number of these situations... a lab-mix killed an infant in the Houston area earlier this year... And we are talking about pretty decently behaved breeds; but I recall when we took "lamaze" classes 25+ years ago... as well as reading baby books, they emphasized keeping infants and toddlers way from dogs, especially big ones and even docile breeds.

You really need to keep kids under 5 away from dogs, especially larger ones. I do not like it when people encourage their kids to go up and pet a dog. It doesn't take much for a small child to behave in a manner that says "prey" and the dog attacks...
