I wonder if coach Joseph is close on any SEC area kids? That connection would be very nice.

Will any of the players mentioned be rated to a higher (to a 4****) rating by the time signing day rolls around?

Are you referring to the offensive recruits? IMO, the 6 defensive commits who are 4* players will remain there through signing day. I dont anticipate any of them reaching a 5* level. Of the three 3* offensive recruits, I think Kevin Gladney could move up with a big senior year.

I'm not telling....

Thanks, N2FL. I always enjoy seeing your outsiders opinion.

Great looking list. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I read somewhere that Newby was recruited by Ross Els.

That would be Terrell Newby. JP recruited Marcus. They attended the same High School.
I would give my life for anyone one of them as i would my own family. -Pops
It doesn’t matter if the glass is half full or half empty. What matters is you have a glass that has something in it. Some people have no glass, or have a glass with nothing in it. So appreciate all that is in your life and quit questioning whether your glass in half full or half empty.

Good chance we land both....

I would switch Bandaras and Newby....then again half a dozen to one and half a dozen to the other....shows you how GREAT a pickup Newby was today to those who have any doubt how good this class is and where its going...

So N2FL would have our top 8 recruits being on the defensive side of the ball. Is that a reflection of Pelini and Co. or have we just not made as much progress with offensive players this early into the recruiting class?
The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!

Good question, last year I believe 4 of our first 5 were offensive players which included Armstrong, Westerkamp, and Thurston. No slouches there. But this year we are filling up with defensive recruits fast. There are a couple things that I think lead to this, one is the fact that if a school in your top 3 or 5 starts filling up at your position, you better get on board if you want to be there or that train is leaving. We are almost done at LB, DE is close, and Safety is almost locked up. You make room if the right guy comes along, but there is no coincidence that sometimes you will see a bunch of people out of the blue pull triggers.
The other thing though is that if you would ask anyone, Pelini is a top 5 defensive mind in the country. Zero wiggle room on that. Couple that with the fact that we are Senior and Junior heavy on the DL, LB, and at Safety, and people want to get on board because they see an immediate need for them in a system that can showcase their talents.
If you get the chance to sit down and listen to Bo speak on his defensive philosophy and what he is trying to do and go over the film on what happened and what should have happened, a high school kid gets VERY excited. Right now, when Beck is doing that on the offensive side of the ball, we are recruiting by the dry-erase board in what we want to do, and there is only one year of film for him to show what he wants so the proof isn't quite in the pudding yet. Sometimes high school kids believe it or not, lack the imagination to see where they would fit in if they have to think of it or make it up on their own.
Sorry, i'm not N2FL, but that's how I see things....

Hey guys, where does this LB class rank nationwide? Got to be top 5, I would think.

Who is our ace offensive recruiter? We have some darn good D recruiters but Beck and the boys needs to pick up the pace...

I'd put us at second or third...

Yes Top 5 in my opinion...all three are 4-stars...
Banderas on all four services....
Newby on three of four (Only Scout has him a 3 star)
Love on three of four....(Only Rivals has him a 3 star)
