The West is going to be one heck of a goalie duel's!
Smith vs. Pekka Rinne and Quick vs. Elliot (Halak is out for games 1 and 2)

Well Hawks eliminated, mike Smith played fantastic
Now, hopefully the Rangers win in 7...what I really wanna see is neil somehow score the winning goal for the Rangers by scoring an own goal

I have seen some of the shoddiest, yep, I said shoddiest, officiating from on ice, to the replays, to the suspensions in as long as I can remember
That IS A GOAL...in Soccer, well unless that official from the RSL match is calling it, then he gives Lundqwist a Red Card

It should not have even gotten this far to rule on! Hank was speared out of the crease right before this happened!!!!

#1 NY Rangers vs. #8 Ottawa
#2 Boston vs. #7 Washington
#3 Florida vs. #6 New Jersey
#4 Pittsburgh vs. #5 Philadelphia
Predictions:
Vancouver in 4 - Quick is over rated and the Canucks are loaded again
San Jose in 7 - St Louis was exposed and ran out of gas at the end of the year - Thorton comes up big for the Sharks
Phoenix in 5 - Toews will not play the entire series and Crawford is no Smith, plus Phoenix has Chicago's number this year going 3-1.
Nashville in 6 - Detroit had an awesome home record, but Nashville was not far behind.. home field is huge in this one.
NY Rangers in 5 - The Rangers have a great D and Ottawa is very porous
Washington in 6 - Surprise, surprise.. defending champs outted in 1st round.. Washington gave Boston all it could handle during the regular season.
New Jersey in 4 - The Devils are playing some very good hockey right now.. Florida, not so much.
Pittsburgh in 7 - This one is tough.. both playing good, but Sid and Malkin put a little something extra in to playoffs.
I was woefully wrong on VAN > LA! While IMHO, Quick is still over-rated, the rest of the Kings stepped up big in front of him!
SJ > STL - Again, not too close on this one, STL looks to be very formidable. We will see how Elliot does in 1 and 2 without Halak for support.
PHX > CHI - Not exactly how I thought it would go with 5 OT'ers and Toews playing, but I was spot on with Crawford is no Smith and Smith was unreal in game 6
NSH > DET - very surprising to see NSH get wins in motorcity.. series vs. PHX is going to be big as both played VERY well on the road.
West predictions:
STL > LA in 6 and staying with PHX > NSH in 7
East tomorrow!
