NORFOLK, Neb. — The Nebraska volleyball team picked up its second win of the spring season on Saturday.
The Huskers recorded a 25-16, 25-9, 25-22 win over North Dakota State before a capacity crowd at the Cox Activities Center at Northeast Community College.

Nebraska connected on 10 ace serves in the contest, seven of which came in the second set. The Huskers had two solo and 12 assisted blocks as a team.
"Our serving was exceptional today and our blocking and defense were pretty good," Nebraska coach John Cook said.
Leading 10-5 in the second set, Hannah Werth had 12 consecutive serves for the Huskers. During the 12-0 run by the Huskers, the senior outside hitter from Springfield, Ill., had three ace serves.
Nebraska led for most of the first two sets, with the only exception coming when the Bison scored the opening point of set two.
North Dakota State pulled to within 14-11 in the first set before the Huskers pulled away. An ace serve by Lara Dykstra helped Nebraska build a 21-13 lead. Later, a kill by Hayley Thramer helped finish off the opening-set win by the Huskers.
North Dakota State made the Huskers work for the win in the third set. Nebraska didn't take its first lead until a kill by Gina Mancuso put her team up 12-11. Later, Werth knocked down a kill to put the Huskers up 17-15. Werth's kill began a 6-1 run for Nebraska.
"We're still mixing and matching a little bit," coach John Cook said. "I thought it was a very solid effort until the end when we got a little sloppy. North Dakota State deserves a lot of credit. They don't back down and kept battling."
Morgan Broekhuis finished with a team-high 12 kills for Nebraska. Junior middle blocker Hayley Thramer of Ewing added 10 kills and three assisted blocks. Gina Mancuso and Werth each connected on eight kills. Werth and Lara Dykstra each fired four ace serves. Junior Lauren Cook handed out 32 set assists.
"The spring (season) is going really well," Thramer said. "We're definitely building chemistry are we're getting better every day."
Megan Lambertson finished with eight kills to lead the Bison. Brynn Joki and Lauren Cammack each were credited with six kills. Lambertson and Cammack had two ace serves apiece.
The Huskers continue their spring season with a home match against Wichita State at 5 p.m. on April 14.
